Provincial Resistance Prisoners Association visits historical sites in Con Dao

(VLO) From March 25 to 27, the Provincial Association of Prisoners of Resistance (NTKC) organized a visit to Con Dao (Con Dao district, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province) to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South (April 30); the Liberation of Con Dao (May 1).

The Provincial Resistance Prisoners Association presented gifts to its members, former prisoners of Con Dao.

Accordingly, the delegation of the Provincial Resistance Prisoners Association visited many historical and cultural relics associated with the history of the Vietnamese revolution such as: Con Dao Museum, French-style tiger cages, American-style tiger cages, Phu Hai prison camp...

The delegation burned incense to commemorate and show gratitude to heroic martyrs, revolutionary soldiers, and patriots at Hang Duong Cemetery.

At Hang Duong Cemetery with 1,992 graves, Con Dao Temple with the names of more than 2,200 martyrs on stone steles, members offered flowers and incense to commemorate their comrades, revolutionary soldiers, and patriots who laid down their lives for the cause of national liberation and reunification.

The delegation listened to a presentation about Hang Duong Cemetery and the traces of the "hell on earth" of the past.

Among them are heroine and martyr Vo Thi Sau, late General Secretary Le Hong Phong, patriot Nguyen An Ninh, People's Armed Forces Hero Ho Van Nam and many martyrs from Vinh Long.

The delegation took a souvenir photo at the Martyrs Monument at Hang Duong Cemetery.

The trip has practical significance in promoting the heroic revolutionary tradition in the fight against foreign invaders, educating the younger generation about the morality of "remembering the source of water when drinking" and "repaying gratitude". At the same time, it demonstrates the efforts to care for the material and spiritual life of cadres and members of the Association of Fine Arts at all levels in the province.
