Recently, Nhan Dan Newspaper announced the project "Love Vietnam, combining wireless connection technology (NFC) and digital data" to spread love for the country, promote historical, cultural and tourist sites across the country. Many famous tourist destinations in Quang Ninh have been equipped with free NFC chips to create unique discovery experiences for visitors, supporting and promoting tourism in Quang Ninh province. Tourist destinations equipped with NFC chips in Quang Ninh include: Yen Tu Special National Relic Site (Uong Bi City), Quang Ninh Museum (Ha Long City); Special National Relic Site of President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site on Co To Island; Tra Co Communal House (Mong Cai City).
With just one touch of an NFC-connected phone, visitors can open up a digital space with many integrated features. From checking in with the support of AI guides to explore information and history of the location, to building a personalized tour itinerary or completing it to receive gifts and bonus points. The website www.yeulamvietnam.vn is designed with a modern, easy-to-interact interface with bilingual Vietnamese and English to help visitors easily access official information about the location.
Ms. Nguyen Mai Huong (tourist from Hanoi) shared: I have been to Co To many times but still do not fully understand the cultural and historical values of many tourist destinations here. Through the NFC connection at the special national relic site of President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site, I learned more information about this relic site, thereby increasing my love and pride for beloved Uncle Ho as well as my homeland's sea and islands.
Currently, many destinations and tourist areas in the area have attached QR codes to bring convenience and enhance the experience for visitors. For example, at the Biodiversity Museum (Bai Tu Long National Park), the unit has integrated interactive screens, 3D models and virtual reality (VR) to recreate the history of the formation of the bay and the typical ecosystem, bringing visitors a vivid tour. The Bai Tu Long National Park Management Board has used QR code scanning technology with smartphones to help visitors access information related to the exhibits easily, conveniently, and have new experiences. Currently, more than 50 specimens at the museum have been attached QR codes, providing basic information about animal and plant species. With just a few clicks, all data is updated in detail: Name, species, origin, growth characteristics...
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam, Specialist of the Department of Science and International Cooperation, Bai Tu Long National Park, said: Previously, when visiting the museum, to learn about the information about the artifacts and images, visitors needed to go in groups and contact in advance to have a tour guide. To make it more convenient for visitors to visit, the Museum has deployed a QR code scanning application so that visitors can learn about the artifacts themselves with new experiences. This is one of the activities that contributes significantly to the modernization of museum work, as well as the image of Bai Tu Long National Park. In the coming time, the unit will continue to collect and update the content and images of new artifacts for QR coding.
Currently, nearly 200/370 relic sites in 13 localities in the province have been digitized and QR codes have been attached, helping visitors easily access information about the history and culture of the destinations. In addition, QR codes are also applied by units for payment and use through ticket gates for convenient sightseeing.
According to Plan No. 214/KH-UBND (dated September 25, 2024) of the Provincial People's Committee on comprehensive digital transformation of the tourism industry in Quang Ninh province by 2025, with a vision to 2030, Quang Ninh province identifies "Taking the experience and satisfaction of tourists as the center of the comprehensive digital transformation process of the tourism industry". Specifically, in the coming time, the province will complete the digital data system on tourism, encode information of tourist areas and spots with QR codes, integrate data and digital maps, creating a platform for smart applications to serve tourists. Technical platforms will be upgraded and integrated with population, resource and environmental databases to optimize management. At the same time, Quang Ninh also focuses on building a synchronous and convenient tourism information portal, effectively supporting users and managers. The application of artificial intelligence, big data analysis and monitoring technology is also promoted to effectively serve the work of forecasting, operating and building tourism development policies in line with the current digitalization trend.
In particular, the province has comprehensively digitized historical and cultural relics, scenic spots, and intangible cultural heritages that have been ranked in the province. This is one of the key tasks in the digital transformation process in the field of culture and tourism, aiming to build a centralized and synchronous digital database to serve the propaganda, promotion, storage and promotion of heritage values in an effective and long-term manner. Through digitization, relics will be vividly introduced in many modern visual forms such as 3D videos, automatic audio narration, interactive e-magazines, digital heritage maps and specialized websites. The content will be presented in two languages (Vietnamese and foreign languages), integrated with QR codes and linked to smart tourism digital platforms, helping people and tourists easily access information with just a few simple operations on smartphones.
