The movie “Closing the deal” starring Miss Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien and MC Quyen Linh has been removed from the theater website. Previously, the movie announced that it would be delayed until June 20.

On the evening of May 19, the film was removed from the ticket purchasing website of Galaxy - the distributor - after the news that Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien was prosecuted for her involvement in the production and advertising of Kera vegetable candy.

The uncertain fate of the film “Closing the deal” has caused suffering for the two directors Nam Cito-Bao Nhan and the entire production crew of this project. This is also an unexpected change in the Vietnamese film market in early 2025.

The first 5 months of 2025 made a difference in the domestic film market with a series of unprecedented fluctuations.

A "force" that has dominated the box office and has never had a rival like Ly Hai has lost to the relentless pursuit of "Detective Kien: The Headless Case" directed by Victor Vu. The two films were released on the same day, and "Detective Kien" was initially completely outclassed in both revenue and screenings by "Flip Side 8" directed by Ly Hai. However, later on, the word-of-mouth effect about the quality and script of "Detective Kien" helped the film make a miraculous comeback against "Flip Side 8".

“Lat mat 8” with its old exploitation of family has prevented Ly Hai from getting out of his comfort zone. As of the afternoon of May 20, “Lat mat 8” reached a revenue of 222 billion VND, while “Tham tu Kien”’s revenue was 232 billion VND. This is considered an unbelievable “fluctuation” at the box office this year, when before that, Ly Hai Along with Tran Thanh, they are always the two most popular directors, able to overwhelm all opponents.

The Vietnamese box office in early 2025 also witnessed unprecedented excitement, with a series of films easily reaching the revenue target of over 100 billion VND, including 4 films with revenue of over 200 billion VND, "The Four Guardians" with over 300 billion VND. These are unimaginable numbers compared to the same period in previous years.
