At Vinh Long market, prices of many types of fruit are currently decreasing compared to a few weeks ago, commonly from 10-30%.
Of which, the biggest decrease is Cat Chu mango from 30,000 VND/kg to 20,000 VND/kg; Hoa Loc mango grade 1 from 40,000 VND/kg to 30,000-35,000 VND/kg; yellow-fleshed, flat-seeded durian from 70,000-80,000 VND/kg to 55,000-60,000 VND/kg; Java rambutan from 24,000-25,000 VND/kg to 19,000-20,000 VND/kg; Edor longan has decreased from 22,000-24,000 VND/kg to 20,000-22,000 VND/kg... On the contrary, green-skin grapefruit grade 1 (1.2-1.6 kg/fruit) is being sought by traders at a price of about 40,000 VND/kg, an increase of 10,000 VND/kg compared to last month.
According to the provincial Statistics Office, in April, the selling prices of items such as mango, dragon fruit, Thai jackfruit, plum, etc. decreased by 1-6% compared to the previous month, due to reduced export demand, mainly for domestic consumption. At the same time, many types of fruit are in peak harvest season, the supply has increased sharply, causing prices to decrease.
In particular, the price of oranges continues to decrease sharply, the reason is that the area of oranges grown in many localities is very large, gardeners process the fruit all year round, so supply exceeds demand.
