Bao Thuan Commune Farmers' Association innovates activities, supports farmers' development

In the period of 2023 - 2025, the material and spiritual life of farmers in Bao Thuan commune will be increasingly improved. The whole commune currently has more than 5,000 agricultural production households, of which 60% are members of the Farmers' Association. The average income per capita in 2025 is estimated to reach more than 60 million VND; the multidimensional poverty rate will decrease to 0.93%, the rate of trained workers will reach 70%.

Every year, over 65% of members register to participate in the Movement “Farmers compete in production and business, help each other get rich and reduce poverty sustainably”, of which over 60% achieve the title of Good Farmers in production and business at all levels. Many effective economic models are replicated such as intercropping fruit trees and coffee; farm-based livestock; comprehensive agricultural services.

In addition, the Commune Farmers' Association has actively implemented many activities to support members in developing production. The whole commune currently has 31 branches that have established a Farmers' Support Fund, with a total capital of more than 1.3 billion VND, lending to 93 members with preferential interest rates. In addition, the Association has also prepared documents for 50 households to borrow from the Farmers' Support Fund at all levels with a total amount of 1.5 billion VND; at the same time, it has guaranteed loans for 538 households of more than 56 billion VND from the Social Policy Bank.

The Association has coordinated to organize 75 training courses, seminars and 125 technology transfer sessions with the participation of more than 6,000 farmers. By 2025, the commune will have 6 products meeting OCOP standards of 3 stars or higher. The Association also promotes collective economic development, mobilizing members to participate in cooperatives and cooperative groups. Currently, the commune has 4 cooperatives, 4 professional associations and 1 professional branch operating effectively, gradually affirming their role in linking and supporting farmers in production and product consumption.

In addition, the Farmers' Association of Bao Thuan commune has always been the core force in the movement "Joining hands to build new rural areas". The Association has mobilized members to actively contribute their efforts, donate land, participate in "Saturdays for new rural areas", build green - clean - beautiful roads, collect waste, and protect the rural environment.

In particular, to welcome the 1st Commune Farmers' Association Congress, the whole commune mobilized more than 300 working days to clean up and renovate village roads and alleys, creating a spacious appearance for the new rural area of Bao Thuan.

The Congress set out 16 key targets for the 2025 - 2030 term, emphasizing the following goals: 100% of cadres and members receive political and legal education and training; develop at least 60 new members each year; strive for 80% of farming households to register and 50% to achieve the title of good producer and business; 100% of members receive legal aid upon request; continue to promote the establishment of the Farmers Support Fund and mobilize resources to eliminate temporary housing for poor members.

Speaking at the Congress, Ms. Tran Thi Oanh, Vice President of the Farmers' Association of Lam Dong province, acknowledged and praised the achievements of the Farmers' Association of Bao Thuan commune. She suggested that in the next term, the Association should continue to innovate the content and methods of operation, promote the spirit of solidarity, promote the movement of good farmers in production and business, contributing to the construction of new rural areas and the development of the local socio-economy.

The Executive Committee of the Bao Thuan Commune Farmers' Association, Term I, was introduced to the Congress.

The Congress announced the Decision to appoint the Executive Committee of the Bao Thuan Commune Farmers' Association, Term I, consisting of 27 comrades; the Standing Committee of 7 comrades. Comrade Le Thi Thu Huyen was elected to hold the position of President of the Bao Thuan Commune Farmers' Association, term 2025 - 2030.
