Women's Association of Emulation Cluster No. 5 returns to the source in Con Dao

TTH.VN - To practically celebrate the 75th anniversary of Uncle Ho's call for patriotic emulation (June 11, 1948 - June 11, 2023), the 76th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2023), the Women's Union of Emulation Cluster No. 5 - Ministry of Public Security organized a political activity to return to the source in Con Dao (Ba Ria - Vung Tau).

During the journey back to the source, the delegates were the Commander of the Party and Political Affairs Department, the Executive Committee of the Women's Union of Emulation Cluster No. 5 of the Public Security of 6 provinces: Thua Thien Hue, Quang Tri, Quang Binh, Ha Tinh, Nghe An and Thanh Hoa, who came to offer flowers and incense at Hang Duong Cemetery - the resting place of tens of thousands of revolutionary soldiers and patriots.

During the resistance war against French colonialism and American imperialism, 20,000 soldiers died in Con Dao, but so far only 1,921 graves have been found; of which, 713 graves have been found with full names and hometowns.

The delegates visited the graves of martyrs, People's Armed Forces Hero Vo Thi Sau, patriot Nguyen An Ninh, and General Secretary Le Hong Phong. The delegation visited historical sites, which marked the heroic and indomitable struggle of tens of thousands of revolutionary soldiers in the two resistance wars against the French and the Americans to save the country.

Also on this political trip back to the source, the delegation visited and presented 20 gifts to former prisoners of Con Dao; policy families, and women in difficult circumstances in the island district.

The return to the source activity in Con Dao has contributed to helping female members of the Provincial Police under Emulation Cluster No. 5 deepen their understanding of the nation's revolutionary tradition; enhance their political mettle, sense of responsibility, overcome all difficulties and challenges to excellently complete all assigned tasks.
