International Scientific Conference "Cultural industry with sustainable tourism development in Vietnam"

On October 30, at Tam Chuc National Tourist Area, Ninh Binh, the Vietnam Tourism Training Association under the Vietnam Tourism Association together with the "Tourism Cultural Talent Incubator" Project co-organized an international scientific conference with the theme "Cultural industry with sustainable tourism development in Vietnam in the context of international integration".

The workshop is expected to propose practical solutions for promoting the role of cultural industries in sustainable tourism development, thereby contributing to orienting Vietnam's sustainable cultural and tourism development strategy in the period of international integration.

This is an important, large-scale event co-organized by the Vietnam Tourism Education Association (VITEA) under the Vietnam Tourism Association (VITA) and the "Tourism Culture Talent Incubator" Project, in coordination with international partners and the leading prestigious Swiss educational organization - International Institute in Geneva (IIG), with the accompaniment and sponsorship of Chan Tam Tourism and Services Company Limited.

The conference attracted the participation of more than 250 authors and research groups submitting abstracts and full papers. Of which, the Organizing Committee selected 212 quality papers to publish in the proceedings, divided into 5 different topic groups.

The authors and research teams come from more than 70 universities, academies, research institutes, colleges, cultural centers, museums and businesses across the country.

In particular, the workshop received attention and participation from leading international tourism businesses such as Evoltech Japan Co., Ltd., contributing to enriching the content and expanding international cooperation opportunities.

The issues discussed at the workshop include: The role of cultural industry in sustainable tourism development in Vietnam; linking the value chain of cultural and tourism industries in the context of international integration; exploiting indigenous cultural resources to build creative tourism products; preserving cultural heritage and developing sustainable tourism; developing high-quality cultural and tourism human resources in the digital age; the role of performing arts, cinema and fashion in attracting international tourists; developing the night-time economy from the perspective of the culture and tourism industry; international cooperation in developing cultural and tourism industries in Vietnam...

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Bui Van Manh, Director of Ninh Binh Department of Tourism, affirmed: The workshop is an opportunity for academic exchange and opens up opportunities for extensive international cooperation in the field of cultural and tourism industry. This is also an important stepping stone in the strategic orientation of sustainable cultural and tourism development of Ninh Binh province in particular and Vietnam in general in the period of international integration.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Trung, Director of Chan Tam Service and Tourism Company Limited said: With the goal of researching and proposing solutions for developing cultural industry associated with sustainable tourism development in Vietnam in the current context, in order to meet the increasing needs and demands of the tourism market for high-quality tourism and cultural human resources, in order to improve the effectiveness of tourism human resource training.

This conference was held in the context of Vietnam being honored at the World Travel Awards Asia & Oceania 2025 with the title "Asia's Leading Destination 2025 " , along with the title "Asia's Leading Heritage Destination 2025".

These achievements affirm Vietnam's increasingly solid international position on the world tourism map, while highlighting the urgent need to exploit cultural industries associated with sustainable tourism development in line with the orientation of Vietnam's tourism development to 2030.
