
The entire quantity of goods was received, transported and temporarily stored at Vocational School 23 by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city and the Hue City Military Command to prepare for distribution.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ai Van, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City, said that the locality will quickly review and allocate aid to the right beneficiaries, helping people soon stabilize their lives after the flood.
Previously, in Hanoi, Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Gennady Bezdetko handed over the shipment to Mr. Nguyen Truong Son, Deputy Director of the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment).
The aid shipment includes 58 rescue boats, 55 tents, 1,000 sets of dishes, 1,000 sets of blankets, 1,000 sets of mosquito nets and many canned foods. Flight number SUM 9121 of the Ministry of Civil Defense, Emergencies and Disaster Relief of the Russian Federation landed at Noi Bai airport that same morning.
Ambassador Gennady Bezdetko affirmed that Russia will continue to accompany and support Vietnam in natural disaster prevention and control.
This is a practical source of support, demonstrating the spirit of cooperation and friendship between the two countries in disaster relief and recovery work. The timely emergency aid from the Government of the Russian Federation is a valuable source of spiritual and material encouragement, contributing to helping the people of Hue quickly overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives as well as have more means to serve the work of disaster prevention and search and rescue.
