The 1st Patriotic Emulation Congress of An Giang province (2025-2030)

Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan delivered a speech directing the congress.

This is a political event of special importance to summarize the patriotic emulation movement for the 2020-2025 period, launch the patriotic emulation movement for the 2025-2030 period to concretize the implementation of the targets and tasks of the Resolution of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030.

Over the past 5 years, many emulation movements have been enthusiastically responded to by the people, bringing positive results, contributing to creating momentum in production and business, creative labor, creating a driving force to promote the socio- economic development of the province.

Accordingly, the average economic growth rate over the past 5 years is estimated at 6.20%, In the first 6 months of 2025 alone, the economic growth of An Giang province after consolidation reached 8.12% (one of 17 provinces and cities with a growth rate of over 8%).

Comrade Ho Van Mung, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee delivered the opening speech of the congress.

The scale of the economy continues to expand, the economic structure shifts in the right direction. GRDP per capita increases steadily over the years, contributing to improving people's lives and raising labor productivity in the province.

On behalf of the State leaders and the Central Emulation and Reward Council, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan acknowledged and commended the results and achievements in the emulation movement and reward work of An Giang province over the past 5 years.

According to the Vice President, after the merger, An Giang will become the largest province in the country; have a particularly important strategic position in terms of economy, national defense, security and foreign affairs; diverse terrain, including plains, forests, islands, borders... are conditions for An Giang to accelerate development, becoming a new growth pole of the Mekong Delta region.

Comrade Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Vice President, presented 200 million VND to children in especially difficult circumstances in the province.

The material and spiritual life of the people is increasingly improved, the poverty rate is lower than the national average. In particular, the movements: An Giang joins hands to build new rural areas; For the poor - leaving no one behind; Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses; Administrative reform, digital transformation, office culture... are widely implemented, bringing practical results.

However, after the merger, An Giang province opened up many new opportunities and chances, but continued to face difficulties and challenges, including new challenges such as: the socio-economic infrastructure serving the economic transformation is not synchronous; the economic structure is shifting slowly...

The Vice President emphasized that in order to successfully achieve the goal of An Giang becoming a fairly developed province in the country by 2030, the Party Committee, government, army and people of An Giang province need to continue promoting good traditions and achievements, overcoming difficulties and limitations...

The Vice President suggested that the province needs to resolutely, synchronously and effectively implement the tasks and solutions set forth by the Provincial Party Congress.

In particular, it is necessary to pay attention to some contents such as promoting the spirit of solidarity, promoting the capacity and responsibility of the team of cadres, civil servants and workers, creating favorable conditions for the team of cadres to stick together and contribute to the homeland.

Planning and investing in harmonious and sustainable socio-economic development, narrowing the development gap. Investing heavily in cultural development, health care, education, human resource development, constantly improving the quality of life and happiness of the people.
