More than 1,600 patients received emergency examination and treatment during the April 30 and May 1 holidays.

(QBĐT) - This morning, May 2, information from the Department of Health said that during the past 5-day holiday, the local health situation was stable, there were no food poisoning cases, no mass accidents, and the epidemic situation was well controlled. The whole province had more than 1,600 patients receiving emergency examination and timely treatment, an increase compared to the April 30 and May 1 holidays last year.

All medical examination and treatment facilities in the province are on duty 24/7 to ensure medical examination, treatment and emergency care for people during the holidays.

Specifically, from 7:00 a.m. on April 27 to 7:00 a.m. on May 2, 1,213 patients were examined and hospitalized at local health facilities. During the 5-day holiday, there were no in-hospital deaths but 12 out-of-hospital deaths; compared to last year's holiday, there was an increase of 11 out-of-hospital deaths and a decrease of 2 in-hospital deaths.

At the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital in Dong Hoi (central level), there were a total of 507 emergency cases and 405 patients hospitalized for treatment. Also during the 5-day holiday, the hospital performed surgery on 71 cases; welcomed 65 newborns and transferred 6 patients.

Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital Dong Hoi performed 3.5 times more surgeries than during the April 30 and May 1 holidays last year.

According to the report of the Department of Health, during the 5-day holiday, all medical examination and treatment facilities in the province strictly followed the direction of the Provincial People's Committee and the Health sector, were on duty 24/7, organized emergency care and medical examination and treatment well, ensured that all emergency patients were examined and treated, did not refuse or delay any emergency cases; promptly transferred severe cases, beyond the treatment capacity to other more specialized medical facilities.
