"Moving Forward with Vietnam" is organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) and the People's Public Security Traditional Day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025).
More than 1 million people nationwide wore red shirts with yellow stars, headed to Ba Dinh Square, and participated in the "Moving Forward with Vietnam" walk.
Attending the program launching ceremony at Ly Thai To Flower Garden (Hanoi) on the morning of August 16 were Mr. Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, co-head of the Steering Committee, editor-in-chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, deputy head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association ; Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Mr. Le Hai Binh, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
At the connection points of 33 provinces and centrally-run cities, 3,121/3,321 communes, wards and special zones, there was the participation of leaders of local Party committees and authorities; leaders of the Public Security of provinces, cities, communes, wards and special zones; and a large number of cadres, soldiers and people nationwide.
Delegates and people participated in a walk in response to the program at Ly Thai To Flower Garden - Hoan Kiem Walking Street on the morning of August 16.
At exactly 6 o'clock, a few minutes before the official launching ceremony took place, the program was directly connected to the Flag Raising Ceremony at the historic Ba Dinh Square. In a sacred, emotional and proud atmosphere, more than 1 million people at connecting points nationwide followed the solemn footsteps of the Honor Guard performing the flag raising ceremony, singing the National Anthem in unison, their hearts beating towards the Fatherland.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Co-Head of the Program Steering Committee Le Quoc Minh shared that with the mission of the leading press agency of the country, Nhan Dan Newspaper has coordinated with the Ministry of Public Security to organize the program "Forwarding with Vietnam", spreading the spirit of solidarity, arousing national pride and contributing to social, environmental and health goals.
Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Le Quoc Minh spoke at the launching ceremony.
"This is not only a sporting event but also a journey of millions of hearts beating in unison - a place where all generations and all classes of people from urban to rural, mountainous, remote and isolated areas converge for a united, strong Vietnam, ready to step into a new era - an era of national aspirations, for a powerful future" - Mr. Le Quoc Minh emphasized.
Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security, delivered a speech launching the walking program "Moving Forward with Vietnam".

This is not only a physical activity but also a campaign to propagate the law, prevent crime, strengthen the people's security posture, contributing to building the image of a healthy, safe and responsible Vietnam in the eyes of international friends."
"Moving Forward with Vietnam" not only demonstrates patriotism and solidarity but also affirms the role of the People's Public Security force in linking the work of ensuring security and order with sustainable social development, building a movement of the entire people to protect national security.

With the message "1 billion steps into the new era", the program is not only a sports activity responding to the campaign "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho" and the movement "Healthy to build and protect the Fatherland", but also a journey connecting millions of hearts, converging all generations and classes of people from urban to rural, mountainous, remote and isolated areas, together towards the goal of building a united, strong and sustainable Vietnam.
