VinaCapital held its first Investor Conference in 2005 as an opportunity to introduce Vietnam and its attractive investment opportunities to international investors.

The series of events enables investors to experience Vietnam in a real way to witness the country's development, as well as listen to unique perspectives and views from various experts, playing an important role in the process of attracting international investment to Vietnam.

Mr. Don Lam, CEO and Founding Shareholder of VinaCapital Group, said that among the more than 150 investors attending the conference, the majority were from North Asia such as Korea and Japan. These investors represent corporations and investment funds managing capital of about 1,000 billion USD.

The sharp increase in attendance this year shows that Vietnam is a more attractive investment destination than ever. This is an opportunity for VinaCapital experts to share more about the attractive investment opportunities in the Vietnamese market.

According to Mr. Don Lam, through preliminary surveys, foreign investors are particularly interested in the story of green transformation and the potential of the consumer sector in Vietnam, especially the semiconductor and chip industries. This will be an opportunity for Vietnam to attract more medium- and long-term capital flows, contributing to promoting sustainable economic growth in the coming time.

In addition to investment funds, VinaCapital Group is also aiming for sustainable development and green transformation goals, contributing to consolidating a solid foundation for the economy to continue to grow strongly and comprehensively.

“Clean energy and renewable energy projects, the recently launched VinaCarbon climate impact investment fund, the Circular Economy Development Research Institute that we co-founded, or the EDGE Champion certification awarded by IFC to our real estate projects are proof of VinaCapital's commitment to always be a pioneer in the journey of sustainable economic development in Vietnam,” Mr. Don Lam shared.

The conference featured speakers representing a wide range of industries and sectors, from technology startups to large industrial corporations and financial institutions. Mr. Marc Knapper, US Ambassador to Vietnam, delivered a speech on the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and economic cooperation opportunities between the two countries for US companies and investors.

Mr. Andy Ho, General Director of VinaCapital Investment Council, assessed that after the recent visit of US President Joe Biden to Vietnam and the signing of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and the United States, it will have a huge long-term impact on the domestic economy. It is expected that the United States will increase FDI capital in Vietnam.

VinaCapital experts said that Vietnam's gross domestic product (GDP) growth for the whole year of 2023 will reach about 4.7%, due to declining exports; weak domestic consumption demand; real estate investors are facing many challenges...

However, entering 2024, Vietnam's economy is forecast to recover well with GDP growth of about 6.5%/year. Production and export will recover. Along with that, macroeconomic factors remain stable, the profit growth prospects of enterprises will recover well in 2024...
