According to the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) report, in the first 9 months of 2025, lending interest rates decreased by 0.63%/year compared to the end of 2023. Statistics of VietNamNet with banks that announced average lending interest rates in September 2025 show that most have reduced their average lending interest rates compared to August.
Meanwhile, September recorded 7 banks increasing average lending interest rates (in August, 13 banks), including: TPBank increased by 0.2%/year,ACB increased by 0.19%/year, Vietcombank increased by 0.1%/year, OCB increased by 0.08%/year, KienLong Bank increased by 0.07%/year, Techcombank increased by 0.06%/year and GPBank increased by 0.05%/year.
Some banks keep the average lending interest rate and the average difference between lending interest rate and deposit interest rate unchanged, such as ABBank, BVBank, Eximbank, PGBank, Saigonbank, SCB, SeABank , VCBNeo...
On the contrary, on the downward trend, BaoVietBank recorded the sharpest decrease in average lending interest rates compared to the previous month, up to 1.19%/year.
VIB continues to be in the group of lending interest rate reductions with a decrease of 0.52%/year. VietA Bank and Vikki Bank still maintain average lending interest rates above 8%/year but decreased by 0.31% and 0.21%/year respectively compared to August.
The average lending interest rate in September at LPBank and Sacombank both decreased by 0.2%/year compared to the previous month, while MBV decreased by 0.18%/year, PVCombank decreased by 0.09%/year, VietinBank decreased by 0.08%/year, Agribank decreased by 0.04%/year, Bac A Bank decreased by 0.03%/year, MB decreased by 0.02%/year and BIDV decreased by 0.01%/year.
In the Big 4 group, Vietcombank is the only bank that increased its average lending interest rate. This is the second consecutive month that the average lending interest rate at this bank has increased compared to the previous month.
According to the announcement, Vietcombank's average lending interest rate in September is 5.7%/year. The difference between the lending interest rate and the average mobilization interest rate is 2.8%/year. The interest rate difference after deducting costs related to capital mobilization and capital use is 1.2%/year.
Agribank's average lending interest rate in September was 6.36%/year, while the average deposit interest rate was 3.81%/year. With an average capital cost of 5.49%/year, the interest rate difference after deducting costs was only 0.87%/year. This is the lowest interest rate difference in the system.
At BIDV, the average lending interest rate in September was 5.47%/year. The difference between lending interest rates and deposit interest rates averaged 2.51%/year. The interest rate difference after deducting costs related to capital mobilization and capital use was 1.29%/year.
At VietinBank, the average lending interest rate in September is 5.09%/year, the average interest rate difference is 1.82%/year.
Regarding the average lending interest rate at banks that announced interest rate information in September, there were 11 banks announcing average lending interest rates below 7%/year, respectively: VietinBank 5.09%/year, SCB 5.4%/year, ABBank 5.45%/year, BIDV 5.47%/year, Vietcombank 5.7%/year, VIB 6.16%/year, BaoViet Bank 6.19%/year, Agribank 6.36%/year, VCBNeo 6.5%/year, ACB 6.72%/year and Sacombank 6.87%/year.
On the contrary, the group of banks maintaining the highest average lending interest rate, above 8%/year, includes Saigonbank 8.8%/year, Bac A Bank 8.63%/year, BVBank 8.48%/year, KienLong Bank 8.47%/year, PVCombank 8.3%/year, Viet A Bank 8.24%/year and Vikki Bank 8.12%/year.
According to the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), as of September 29, the total outstanding credit balance of the entire system had increased by 13.37% compared to the end of 2024 and by 19.6% compared to the same period last year. It is estimated that credit growth this year could reach 20%, the highest level in many years. The State Bank continues to require credit institutions to synchronously deploy solutions to stabilize and strive to reduce deposit interest rates, contributing to stabilizing the monetary market and creating room to reduce lending interest rates. |
