What kind of investments are Thai businesses looking for in Gia Lai?

On October 23rd, the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee and the Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial Park held an investment promotion conference, attracting 150 domestic and Thai businesses. This event marks Gia Lai's efforts to invite foreign investors, especially from Thailand, into the province's potential sectors.

At the conference, many Thai businesses and investors expressed deep interest in investment opportunities in Gia Lai. Areas of interest included agriculture , especially high-tech agriculture, industry, aviation, automotive components, furniture, and logistics.

Investors thoroughly discussed transportation infrastructure conditions, preferential policies for foreign businesses such as taxes, energy (electricity, water), human resources, and labor wages.

Within the framework of the event, Becamex Group and the Federation of Thai Industries signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at supporting Thai businesses in accessing the investment environment in Vietnam.

Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial Park also signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Thai Business Association in Vietnam, not only establishing a long-term relationship but also supporting Thai businesses in exploring the investment environment in Gia Lai and vice versa.

Mr. Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang, Vice Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that Thailand is one of the province's stable investment partners, with 9 active FDI projects and a total registered capital of over 100 million USD.

Mr. Hoang affirmed that Gia Lai province identifies the Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh Industrial, Urban and Service Zone as a crucial nucleus, playing a gateway role in receiving high-quality FDI flows, including those from Thai businesses.

"We hope that Thai corporations and businesses with strong potential, especially in fields such as high-tech agricultural processing, supporting industries, and logistics, will come to explore and invest in Gia Lai province," Mr. Hoang stated.

Mr. Hoang also provided further information about Gia Lai's potential, noting its second-largest land area in the country, diverse economy , fertile land, abundant raw materials, and well-developed transportation infrastructure.

The province boasts two airports, National Highway 1, the soon-to-be-opened North-South Expressway, and the operational Quy Nhon Port. In addition, Gia Lai is preparing to invest in the North-South high-speed railway project and the Phu My seaport project.

In terms of energy, the province aims to become a clean energy hub of Vietnam, fully meeting the needs of socio-economic development. With a population of over 3.5 million people, Gia Lai has an abundant, well-trained young workforce with competitive salaries.

Mr. Truong Minh, Deputy Director of the Foreign Investment Department (Ministry of Finance), pledged to continue supporting Gia Lai and its business community, promoting institutional reforms, improving the investment environment, and creating the most favorable conditions for foreign investors, including Thai businesses.

Groundbreaking ceremony for a 230 billion VND worker housing project.

Within the framework of the conference, Becamex Binh Dinh Joint Stock Company held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Becamex VSIP pre-built factory project, covering an area of 4.2 hectares with a total investment of over 274 billion VND, serving the production needs of small and medium-sized enterprises.

In addition, there is a 1.3-hectare worker housing project with a total investment of over 230 billion VND, along with supporting infrastructure projects such as green parks and water pumping stations to serve production and daily life within the industrial park.
