At the meeting, representatives of the two groups presented the orientation for building a high-tech agricultural ecosystem in Gia Lai, including: raw material areas, seed production, livestock farming, and export processing. De Heus and Hung Nhon identified Gia Lai as a key area in the strategy for developing a high-tech agricultural value chain in the Central Highlands region, aiming to form a disease-free raw material area and deploy a production model that meets international standards.

The De Heus - Hung Nhon joint venture is currently implementing the DHN Gia Lai High-Tech Livestock Farm project in Ia Le commune with a total investment of about 1,000 billion VND, applying European technology. The project started construction in May 2024, has put into operation phase 1, and is expected to be fully completed in the first quarter of 2026. When put into stable operation, the project will provide about 24,000 high-quality breeding animals each year to the Central - Central Highlands market. In addition, the De Heus feed factory in An Nhon - Gia Lai Industrial Park, with a capacity of 150,000-200,000 tons/year, operating since 2015, will also be expanded to meet the demand for raw materials for production, livestock and support the consumption of agricultural products for the locality.

Mr. Johan Van Den Ban said: The development strategy for the period 2025-2030 of De Heus and Hung Nhon in Gia Lai focuses on key projects in the field of animal husbandry, processing and exporting animal products according to a closed value chain, applying high technology and ensuring disease safety.

“Controlling pesticide residues and mycotoxins in animal feed, along with strict breeding selection processes according to international standards, will contribute to creating a source of breeds with good resistance, meeting the requirements of demanding export markets, including the Halal market,” Mr. Johan Van Den Ban informed.

Mr. Vu Manh Hung said: The joint venture's barn system is designed to be fully automated from feeding, drinking to environmental treatment, ensuring biosafety and stable product quality. Building a chain from production to processing is also aimed at meeting global consumption trends, as the proportion of processed meat products exported from Vietnam is increasing.

“Along with Gia Lai, the De Heus - Hung Nhon joint venture has also invested and operated projects in Dak Lak and Lam Dong, gradually forming a high-tech agricultural complex system in the Central Highlands,” Mr. Vu Manh Hung shared.

At the meeting, representatives of the two groups proposed that Gia Lai province consider implementing public-private partnership mechanisms to build a modern, efficient and sustainable agricultural ecosystem, in line with the national agricultural development strategy associated with export. According to the plan, the two groups will expand the scale of the project in Gia Lai to 2,800 billion VND, becoming the largest agricultural project in the Central Highlands. Not only is the project large-scale, it also meets Halal, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000 standards and export standards to the EU, Japan, Korea, and the Middle East. In particular, the project will proactively develop large-scale corn material areas through a model of cooperation with local agricultural cooperatives, to ensure a stable supply, traceability and create sustainable livelihoods for farmers, especially ethnic minorities in remote areas.
