More than 20 international delegations will attend the ceremony to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South.

On April 18, carrying out the assigned tasks of the Central Steering Committee to celebrate major holidays and important historical events of the country in 3 years (2023-2025), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism presided over and coordinated with the Central Propaganda and Education Commission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and other agencies to organize a domestic and international press conference to inform about activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.

According to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang, up to now, more than 20 international delegations have confirmed their attendance, including 3 high-level delegations, 4 delegations at ministerial level or higher, and representatives of more than 15 political parties from all continents. Ho Chi Minh City has also received confirmation from more than 20 sister localities and many foreign individuals who have actively contributed to the anti-war movement and the anti-war movement against the invasion of Vietnam. "The participation of international delegations demonstrates their affection and strong attachment to Vietnam, and at the same time shows the stature and profound significance of this event," Ms. Le Thi Thu Hang emphasized.

A special feature of this year’s program is that for the first time, the parade will feature a delegation of outstanding overseas Vietnamese, with more than 120 delegates from more than 25 countries and territories. The delegation includes not only those who have been involved in the struggle for national independence, but also many outstanding intellectuals, artists, and young businessmen.

Speaking about the commemorative activities held in Ho Chi Minh City on this occasion, Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, said that the national commemorative program will be held on the morning of April 30, on Le Duan Street, District 1 and some central streets of Ho Chi Minh City. The program will be broadcast live on VTV1 - Vietnam Television, Ho Chi Minh City Television and local Radio and Television Stations.

Previously, on April 29, Ho Chi Minh City held a ceremony to offer incense and flowers to commemorate heroic martyrs; offer incense and flowers to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh and President Ton Duc Thang.

From April 19 to 30, a series of celebratory activities will take place in Ho Chi Minh City, including: The “Colors of Uncle Ho’s City” Festival, with the highlight being a 3D mapping art performance at the front of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee headquarters, combining light, sound and symphony and choral music. In particular, on the night of April 19, 2,000 drones will perform, combined with fireworks to light up the city’s sky, bringing a spectacular experience to the audience.

The film exhibition “Echoes of the Great Victory of Spring 1975”, with 300 precious documentary photos, will be screened for the public on the nights of April 27 and 28, at Nguyen Hue - Ngo Duc Ke stage. The special art program “National Reunification Day” will be held and broadcast live nationwide at Thong Nhat Hall, Ho Chi Minh City, on the evening of April 30. The outdoor art program “The Country is Full of Joy” will be held on April 20, at Thong Nhat Hall; the special concert program with the theme “Symphony of Peace” will be held on the evening of April 21, at Ho Chi Minh City Theater; the national television bridge “Forever the Triumphal Song” will be broadcast on April 27, at the Ho Chi Minh City bridge; the special art program hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with Ho Chi Minh City will be held on April 29, in front of Thong Nhat Hall…

Up to now, there are more than 600 reporters from domestic press agencies and 122 foreign press reporters registered to participate in activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day. Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy said that a "Press Week" will be held from April 25 to May 1 for foreign reporters who are war correspondents; reporters from countries that supported Vietnam during the war; overseas reporters to show gratitude for the contributions and support for Vietnam during the war, and at the same time introduce historical tours exclusively for reporters.
