More than 3,000 people practiced firefighting and rescue at an apartment building.

On November 14, Ho Chi Minh City Police organized the largest fire prevention and fighting and rescue drill of 2025 at Vinhomes Grand Park urban area, Long Binh ward (Ho Chi Minh City). The drill mobilized about 3,197 participants.

Attending the direction was Major General Nguyen Thanh Huong, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Police. The hypothetical situation at 5:30 am in the project's underground parking area, a motorbike leaked gasoline and encountered a heat source (electrical short circuit from the battery) causing a fire.

Because the flammable materials are gasoline, electrical equipment, plastic, rubber... the large heat radiation causes the fire to spread to adjacent vehicles, creating a large fire with a lot of smoke and toxic gas.

At the same time, a fire and explosion occurred in the basement and surrounding areas. Many people quickly moved their vehicles away from the fire area, creating a panic scene that distracted many car and motorbike drivers, leading to a collision between two cars.

The traffic accident that occurred on Rodeo Avenue in front of Vincom Mega Mall Grand Park damaged, deformed and left 4 people unconscious and trapped inside the car.

At the time of the fire accident mentioned above, there were about 10,000 people working and residing. Evacuation on the upper floors of the building was difficult due to the amount of toxic smoke spreading through the technical box systems and stairwells to the upper floors, causing suffocation and difficulty breathing for those escaping, especially those who escaped later.

After receiving the order, the fire fighting forces extinguished the fire and rescued many trapped people to safety.
