More than 300 players compete for tickets to the Peri Open and Hanoi Open 2023

This tournament is organized by Matchroom - the world's leading Billiards tournament organizer in collaboration with Hanoi People's Committee and Vietcontent Company. The Hanoi Open Pool Championship will feature 256 top players from around the world, including 25 players representing regions ranked in the top 128 in the world according to the latest World 9-Ball Tour rankings such as Francesco Sanchez Ruiz, Shane Van Boening, Joshua Filler, Jayson Shaw, Fedor Gorst.

Of the remaining 128 spots, 64 spots were reserved for independent players who registered on the Matchroom homepage and were sold out just over 2 minutes after the organizers opened the registration portal, including famous Vietnamese players: Nguyen Anh Tuan, Luong Duc Thien, Do The Kien, Pham Phuong Nam, Bui Truong An and many players from countries around the world. The last 64 spots will be reserved for the host Vietnam, which are the spots through the Hanoi Open Qualifying Round and the Peri 9-Ball Open starting from October 2-4.

With names competing in the Qualifying Round such as player Nguyen Phuc Long (25th SEA Games gold medal, 22nd SEA Games gold medal), Ngo Quang Trung, player Do Hoang Quan (2015 SEA Games men's 9-ball silver medal), Nguyen Ba Manh (2023 National 9-ball Round 1 Champion), Lee Kun Fang (1997 WPA World 9-ball Championship runner-up, International Challenge of Champions in Japan champion), 17-year-old Filipino talent Albert James Manas, Oliver Villarfuerte - famous Filipino player, the top Vietnamese players are expected to participate in the Peri 9-ball Open Championship and Hanoi Open Championship.

Competing with them are many international players from the Philippines, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Singapore, Bangladesh, Indonesia, India, China, Australia, and the United States. This promises that Peri Open and Hanoi Open will be the peak competition place for the world's leading players and the most in-form players in Vietnam and the Asian region at the present time.

On the first day, after 3 intense rounds of competition, the 16 strongest players were found. These are the first 16 players who have won the right to register to participate in Peri Open and Hanoi Open: Nguyen Phuc Long; Nguyen Van Dung; Khuc Trung Thanh; Do Hoang Quan; Cao Nam Truong; Do Van Khai; Jundel Mazon; Nguyen Van Huynh; Abdullah Al Muntaser Siddiui; Lu Hui-Chan; Nafiul Islam; Albert James Manas; Lee Kun-Fang; Jefrey Consigna Roda; Patric Jay Dela Cruz Gonzalets; Shuaib Ahmed Saan Shibbir.

Peri 9-Ball Open – the companion tournament of Hanoi Open will be held from October 5 to October 9 at Peri Pool Arena 64 Bach Dang, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi. The tournament will gather 128 players, including 64 top players in the World Nine Ball Tour rankings along with 64 players who won the Qualifying Round. This tournament is part of the WNT ranking system with a total prize of up to 104,000 USD, organized by Hanoi People's Committee in collaboration with Vietcontent and Matchroom.

The 256 players competing in the Hanoi Open Pool Championship and Peri 9-Ball Open are not only aiming to win Matchroom’s first tournament in Vietnam, they will also be looking to secure a place in the Mosconi Cup. This will certainly make the tournament more competitive than ever. The prize money for the Peri Open and Hanoi Open is over $100,000 and $200,000 respectively.
