On May 10, at Bai Dinh Pagoda, Gia Sinh Commune, Gia Vien District, Ninh Binh Province, the Executive Committee of the Buddhist Sangha of Ninh Binh Province coordinated with Bai Dinh Pagoda to solemnly organize the Buddha's Birthday Ceremony of Buddhist calendar 2569-2025 with the theme "Spreading wisdom - Connecting human life", to contribute to spreading the message of love, peace and national unity.
Attending the ceremony were representatives of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha; the Buddhist Sangha of Ninh Binh province; leaders of Ninh Binh province and more than 4,500 monks, nuns, Buddhists, and people inside and outside the province.
The Buddha's Birthday (2569-2025) is an opportunity for the Buddhist community and people to awaken the light of wisdom, nurture compassion, connect people with love and understanding, and move towards a world of peace, humanity and sustainable development.
At the ceremony, Most Venerable Thich Thanh Nhieu, Standing Member of the Council of Witnesses, Permanent Vice President of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Abbot of Bai Dinh Pagoda, read the Buddha's Birthday Message of Buddhist calendar 2569 of the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha; Most Venerable Thich Minh Quang, Secretary of the Executive Council, Head of the Executive Board of Buddhism of Ninh Binh province, Deputy Abbot of Bai Dinh Pagoda, read the Buddha's Birthday speech and the meaning of Buddha's Birthday.
The Buddha's Birthday celebration at Bai Dinh Pagoda this year has profound significance as it takes place on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). The event is an opportunity to affirm the spirit of "Buddhism always accompanies the nation", contributing to strengthening the great solidarity bloc, building a humane, civilized and developed society.
At the ceremony, Ms. Bui Mai Hoa, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee affirmed that the Vesak Festival is the most important event for every monk, nun and Buddhist; commemorating three important events in the life of Buddha: Birth, Enlightenment and Nirvana. The ceremony is an opportunity to affirm the purity of Buddhist teachings and the contributions of Buddhism throughout the history of humanity.

Ninh Binh is one of the localities that received Buddhist culture very early; it is one of the places that still preserves many vestiges of the development of Vietnamese Buddhism.

With the tradition of solidarity, harmony, and diligent practice of Buddhism and service to sentient beings, Ms. Bui Mai Hoa believes that the venerable clergy, monks, nuns, Buddhist followers and people in the province will continue to preserve and promote the tradition of "Protecting the nation and bringing peace to the people," and accompanying the nation of Vietnamese Buddhism; strengthen solidarity and harmony, take service to sentient beings, benefit religion and life as a means to practice and attain enlightenment, affirming the superior values of Buddhism - the religion of peace.
Attending the Buddha's Birthday Ceremony, delegates, monks, nuns, and Buddhists performed incense offering and prayer rituals and the Buddha bathing ritual.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee presented charity gifts to 200 students who have overcome difficulties in Gia Vien and Nho Quan districts, worth 200 million VND; organized a student retreat with the theme "Finding the Root of Enlightenment - Taking refuge in Compassion"; tea meditation with the theme "Tea Fragrance of Buddha's Season - Sweet Taste of Compassion" and organized a Buddhist exhibition with the theme "Buddhist Culture - Connecting Religion and Life" about the life of Buddha and his teachings.
