Tran GB, a 4th grade student, said he drank 2 boxes of milk and ran around for a bit when he felt a stomachache. He borrowed some oil from a friend but it didn't help so he was taken to the hospital.

Mr. KT, in area 4, ward III, has 2 sons Kim Lam Tr.T (grade 2), Kim Lam Tr.T (grade 1) and 1 niece Kim Thi Th.Th (grade 2) who were all poisoned. At around 4 pm this afternoon, he heard that the children were poisoned so he took them to the hospital with the same school. Currently, they are in IV, in good health and hungry. The family is going to buy porridge for them to eat.

Information from the Departmentof Education and Training of Vi Thanh city: Today, a benefactor brought 30 cartons of milk to the school to give to all students at this remote location.

This school currently has more than 100 students. After drinking milk, some students showed signs of stomachache and vomiting. Immediately after that, the school took these students to the provincial Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital for emergency treatment.

According to Hau Giang Newspaper: The school has 5 classes, 123 students in total, 3 were absent today, 120 left, all received milk. Some students drank 1,2 boxes, some drank more.

Another type has a production date of April 15, 2023, with an expiration date of January 15, 2024.

Currently, the provincial Food Safety and Hygiene Department and relevant agencies are working with the school, checking the quantity of milk, checking the expiry date and sealing the samples. Then, they will coordinate with the provincial Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital to examine the students' symptoms.

Information about the situation of the students, as well as information from the authorities about this incident will be updated by Hau Giang Newspaper in the next news sent to readers.

Providing milk to disadvantaged students is a meaningful action, however, the authorities recommend that schools be cautious and carefully consider the expiry date of the milk as well as the type of milk to avoid unfortunate incidents, as there have been similar cases of milk poisoning in many provinces and cities in the past.
