Cooperation between VNU and Hyundai Motor Company in training high-quality human resources

On March 19, Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) Le Quan and Mr. Gi Baek Lee - Chief Representative of Hyundai Motor Company, Korea (HMC) in Vietnam signed a cooperation agreement between the two sides.

Also attending the signing ceremony were Mr. Heechang Park - Senior Manager of Hyundai Motor Company; Mr. Nguyen Anh Tu - General Director of Hyundai Thanh Cong Vietnam Automobile Joint Venture Joint Stock Company; Mr. Tran Huy Hoang - Director of Brand Communications Department - Hyundai Thanh Cong Vietnam Automobile Joint Venture Joint Stock Company.

On the side of VNU, there were Vice President Pham Bao Son; representatives of the Office, functional departments and member and affiliated units.

At the signing ceremony, Director Le Quan expressed that VNU wishes to cooperate with leading corporations and enterprises in Vietnam and internationally, including Hyundai Motor Group in general and Hyundai Motor Company in particular, to build high-quality human resources, especially in the field of engineering and technology; establish research centers in coordination with enterprises, training and research centers related to engineering and technology in Hoa Lac.

Director Le Quan believes that the signing of the cooperation agreement will contribute to improving the quality of training and research in the field of engineering and technology of VNU, thereby helping Vietnam meet the increasing demand for high-quality human resources for the automobile industry and related industries, serving the economic and scientific and technological development of the two countries.

Also at the signing ceremony, Mr. Gi Baek Lee said that the relationship between Hyundai Motor Group and VNU began with the memorandum of understanding signed with the University of Foreign Languages, VNU in the summer of 2020 regarding cooperation ineducational volunteer activities in the Hyundai-Jump School program.

“Over the past four years, we have supported about 200 students of VNU, mainly students studying at the University of Foreign Languages, to help develop talents for Vietnam so that they can develop together with Hyundai Motor Group. This is one of the typical examples of cooperation between Hyundai Motor Group and VNU for the future social development of Vietnam. With the signing of the memorandum of understanding today, we can continue to carry out other better cooperation projects in broader areas,” said Head of HMC Business Unit Gi Baek Lee.

Mr. Gi Baek Lee affirmed that for Hyundai Motor Company, establishing a cooperative relationship with VNU is an opportunity for the Company to contribute to Korean and Vietnamese society, and also creates a new case of exchange in the private sector between Vietnam and Korea, which have been increasingly cooperating more closely in recent years.

The signing of the agreement is the basis for VNU and Hyundai Motor Company to carry out effective coordination and cooperation activities in the coming time. Accordingly, the two sides will establish the VNU-Hyundai Motor Company Cooperation Office (VNU - HMC Cooperation Office) located in Hoa Lac, to perform functions, tasks and coordinate cooperation activities. On this basis, excellent talents will be trained through internships at the headquarters of Hyundai Motor Group, the program of lectures by famous international scholars will be implemented, and the mutually beneficial relationship will be strengthened through joint research projects to promote cooperation between universities and enterprises.

In recent years, VNU has had many cooperations in training and scientific research with leading universities in Korea such as Seoul National University, high-tech corporations of Korea such as Samsung, LG, Hyundai, SK, etc. VNU graduates in science, technology and engineering are always highly appreciated and accepted to work in important positions in Korean technology and industrial corporations in Vietnam. Cooperation between VNU and Korean corporations is a model for training quality human resources, training with addresses - serving the economic and scientific and technological development of the two countries./.
