To achieve the above achievements, during the training process, the staff focused on imparting experience, both practicing movements and training a strong mentality for CSM.
The hot summer weather did not dampen the determination to win the "good shooting flower" of CSMs of Company 5, Battalion 3, Military School of Military Region 3. Following the command of the unit commander, each group of CSMs took turns to perform the AK submachine gun shooting test, lesson 1. The joy and confidence multiplied after each round of shooting and the good scores reported. Excited to have scored 77 points and been awarded the "good shooting flower", CSM Bui Thanh Son (Squad 5, Platoon 5, Company 5) said: "When I went to the firing line, I felt a little nervous, but remembering the commander's instructions, I took my index finger off the trigger and took a deep breath, breathing evenly, looking into the distance waiting for my teammates to shoot first. After that, I calmly took aim and slowly pulled the trigger, finishing the shot. I was very happy to have achieved a good score. This result helped me feel more confident entering the grenade throwing and explosives test".

We observed that after each round of shooting, the officers of Company 5 organized a review right at the waiting position. Lieutenant Nguyen Van Tuan, Platoon Leader of Platoon 5, Company 5, shared: “The sunnier it gets towards noon, causing the CSM to often see a blur on top of the sight while aiming. To eliminate the glare on top of the sight, we instructed the CSM to look into the distance for about 5 seconds to relieve fatigue, then continue to squint, focus their vision to regain a standard aiming line.”
How to eliminate glare from the sight, not to rest the magazine on the bulletproof cover when lying down to shoot, not squinting your eyes for too long when aiming, drinking 1-2 small sips of water before shooting, taking deep breaths about 3 times to “eliminate shaking”... are experiences that commanders at all levels of Company 5 regularly disseminate to CSMs during training. Major Tran Van Phu, Company 5's Captain, said: "These are all experiences drawn from many years of CSM training. In fact, the unit's CSMs have effectively applied these experiences to the live ammunition firing test and achieved quite high results, helping the unit achieve a good grade, ensuring absolute safety."
AK submachine gun shooting lesson 1, grenade throwing and explosives lesson 1 are difficult and important contents in the CSM training program. These are also contents that pose a risk of safety when practicing the "3 explosions" test. Therefore, during the training process, the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the Military School of Military Region 3 promote the role of cadres at all levels in proactively disseminating practical experiences to train CSMs to master the essential movements, build a solid spirit, and a confident mentality to participate in the test to achieve high results and absolute safety.

Colonel Nguyen Thanh Nam, Head of Training Department, Military School of Military Region 3, said: Since the beginning of the year, the school has selected and prioritized experienced officers to establish a framework for CSM training staff and organize training at all levels. In addition to unifying and fostering new content, the training process focuses on exchanging and disseminating good experiences in training and managing CSM, especially the experience of training AK submachine gun shooting lesson 1, throwing grenades at long range and hitting targets, and using explosives for the staff to apply and convey to CSM.
Determining that experience transfer is necessary, however, the basic factor that determines the results of the "3-bang" test is that CSMs must have a firm grasp and skillfully perform and accurately coordinate the movement elements. Therefore, the CSM training units of the Military School of Military Region 3 always maintain a strict and orderly training plan. The training process is conducted systematically from low to high, simple to complex, without skipping any steps; closely combining theory with practice, linking movement training with physical training to improve soldiers' physical strength; focusing on organizing small, many exercises, implementing "correcting mistakes" so that CSMs can make steady progress.
Colonel Nguyen Quang Truong, Party Secretary and Political Commissar of Military School of Military Region 3, said: “We require the staff to regularly stay close to the training ground, strengthen guidance and correction for CSM; oppose rigid educational methods, orders, scolding, intimidation or setting too high requirements leading to psychological stress, anxiety, fear... Units proactively provide political education, encourage ideology, build determination for CSM; regularly commend individuals and groups with good training to motivate CSM to confidently strive to practice.”
