Hue is about to have another apartment complex worth thousands of billions of dong.

The project to renovate and rebuild Dong Da apartment complex has officially been launched in Hue city.

On the morning of December 29, the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project to renovate and build a new Dong Da apartment building (in Phu Nhuan ward, Hue city, Thua Thien Hue province).

This is an apartment building project located on a prime land plot in the heart of Hue City. Previously, this was the location of the old Dong Da apartment building, which was built in 1977 and had seriously degraded, at risk of collapse.

The project owner selected by Thua Thien Hue province is Dong Da Development and Investment Joint Stock Company with a total investment of more than 1,300 billion VND.

Accordingly, a new apartment complex will be built right at this location with an area of ^{​​8,664m2} including 3 basements, 25 floors and 669 apartments.

Of these, 161 apartments are used by the investor to resettle households living in the old Dong Da apartment building.

The project to renovate and rebuild Dong Da apartment complex was approved by Thua Thien Hue province in 2021, but after many years it has not been able to be implemented due to problems with site clearance.

Many households in this old apartment building did not accept the compensation and resettlement plan.

Hue City People's Committee has forcibly evicted these households from the seriously degraded old apartment building, to hand over the site to the construction unit to carry out the project according to regulations.

At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Anh Quan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dong Da Development and Investment Joint Stock Company, committed that within 36 months, the project will be completed and put into use, creating more housing funds as well as a new, modern, classy urban area for the central city of Hue.

Mr. Hoang Hai Minh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue Province, said that this is a project that the province is very interested in. Mr. Minh requested the investor to construct the project on schedule, with quality and aesthetics, ensuring safety, security and efficiency, and fully complying with regulations.
