Instructions on procedures for accessing preferential loans for people with disabilities

On the morning of April 28, the Provincial Association of People with Disabilities (PWD) coordinated with the Bank for Social Policies (BSP) to organize a conference to guide the procedures for accessing preferential loans for PWDs for 32 key officials of the PWD Association and members in need of loans.

The reporter of the Social Policy Bank conveyed the content of instructions on procedures for accessing preferential loans for people with disabilities.

At the conference, delegates listened to representatives of the Provincial Disabled People's Association summarize the results of activities to support members in accessing and using loans from sources such as the Bank for Social Policies; the project "Enhancing capacity and developing organizations for provincial disabled people's associations in Vietnam" (CODV3) funded by the Danish government ; results of the loan survey in 2 units of Thanh Liem district and Duy Tien town. In addition, the association also pointed out difficulties in loan support, members' wishes to borrow capital; proposed ideas to remove difficulties in accessing loans for disabled people.

Along with that, the reporter of the Social Policy Bank informed the conference about credit programs; loan support policies related to the rights of PWDs; loan procedures; notes when needing to borrow capital to support job creation, maintaining and expanding jobs; some changes in the job creation loan program. According to regulations, PWDs are allowed to borrow capital at a preferential interest rate equal to 50% of the loan interest rate for near-poor households, with a maximum loan term of 5 years. Specifically, each PWD can borrow from 30 to 100 million VND from capital sources through the Social Policy Bank. In addition, members also had their questions related to loan support answered.
