Nearly 1,300 seedlings were planted.
On June 1, OPES Digital Insurance donated nearly 1,300 seedlings to the Tay Ninh Forest Management Board through TreeBank, with the aim of preventing erosion, protecting the environment and developing the economy. This is a practical action in response to World Environment Day on June 5, and also marks the second O.Garden tree garden on TreeBank's map, extending the green - clean - sustainable transformation journey of the digital insurance company in the VPBank ecosystem.
OPES representative shared: “Protecting forests and preventing soil erosion, planting trees to cover bare land and hills is not only a local issue but also a common responsibility of the whole society to combat climate change, towards maintaining a stable living environment and people's livelihoods. Each O.Garden garden formed is a testament to OPES's efforts and responsibility in building a sustainable future, while demonstrating our long-term commitment to environmental issues. After the positive results from the June 2024 livelihood tree planting activity in Lam Dong , we are happy to continue to accompany TreeBank, continuing the story of creating a green future”.

As a province with a large forest area in the Southeast region, Tay Ninh plays an important role in terms of ecology and environment, not only for the locality but also for neighboring areas such as Ho Chi Minh City, Long An, Binh Duong ... Therefore, to cope with the negative impacts of climate change and the risk of forest degradation, the locality is actively implementing measures to protect and restore the ecosystem. In which, planting seedlings is considered a practical and effective measure.
The tree varieties awarded by OPES this time were carefully selected by experts and forest owners, based on experience and field analysis to ensure long-term ecological efficiency. The list includes tree species such as: Sao, Dau Rai, Xa Nu, Trac, Giang Huong, Cam Lai, intercropped with livelihood trees such as Acacia, Rubber, Mango..., distributed according to each planting area and in accordance with the planning issued by the province.
According to the representative of Tay Ninh Forest Management Board, the project not only contributes to increasing the forest coverage rate, but also plays an important role in protecting biodiversity resources. In the future, when farming is effective, the flora develops stably, the forest canopy will help retain rainwater, limit soil erosion, landslides and flooding.
The tree donation activity took place on June 1st – International Children’s Day. On this occasion, OPES’s Corporate Culture Fund accompanied the program, built the “OPES Giving Love Bookshelf” and presented it to Suoi Ngo B Primary School (Tan Chau District, Tay Ninh Province), as a small library corner to help students access more useful books, nurture the seeds of knowledge and contribute to improving the spiritual life of local children.

Towards sustainable development
OPES said that it has worked with TreeBank to deploy the first O.Garden in Lam Dong province in June 2024. After 12 months of planting, 1,800 seedlings were recorded to have positive results with a survival rate of over 95%, the trees grew evenly and healthily, without affecting the progress or efficiency of the entire model. Some fruit trees have begun to enter the main fruiting season, and it is expected that within the next 6-12 months, people will be able to harvest the first fruit crops with a more stable yield.
The significant reduction in the need for chemical fertilizers and pesticides has helped stabilize the ecosystem here. People have also gradually formed the habit of taking care of trees and converting farming to suit the long-term ecological agricultural orientation. In addition, 1,800 trees have also contributed to greening nearly 3 hectares of land, many households also said that they feel the air is fresher, improving their living space.

O.Garden is also part of OPES' ESG (environmental - social - governance) strategy.
O.Garden is also part of the ESG (environment - society - governance) strategy that OPES is steadfastly pursuing, combining business development and improving the quality of community life, towards sustainable development. In the future, O.Garden will continue to be replicated throughout the province, contributing to greening the S-shaped land.
As one of the companies in the comprehensive financial ecosystem of VPBank, OPES is gradually asserting its capacity in the market, accompanying the companies in the group on the journey to create sustainable prosperity value.
