Speaking at the Festival, Comrade Do Manh Hien, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, expressed his joy and excitement when reviewing with local cadres, party members and people the glorious historical journey of the brave and victorious Port City. He emphasized that 70 years ago, on May 13, 1955, Hai Phong was completely liberated, marking a historical turning point, opening a new period for the development of the largest port city in the North. After two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism, entering the renovation process, Hai Phong has continuously grown strongly, becoming a class I city directly under the Central Government, the development locomotive of the Northern Coastal region. In that process, Kien Thuy district in general and Tan Trao commune in particular always played an important role. From the movement “Kim Son - Tan Trao drums against Japan” to the persistent contributions in the resistance war and homeland construction today, Tan Trao has affirmed its position as one of the typical localities. Notably, in June 2024, Tan Trao commune was honored to be recognized as a model new rural area - a clear demonstration of comprehensive economic and social innovation, gradually improving the material and spiritual life of the people.

In particular, the top priority is to well organize the arrangement of commune-level administrative units according to the plan agreed by the people: keeping Tan Trao commune intact and merging part of Kien Hung commune to form a new administrative unit named Kien Hung commune. He emphasized that this is a strategic step, contributing to streamlining the apparatus, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of state management, while expanding development space, creating favorable conditions to attract investment and promote local socio-economic development.

In addition, the locality needs to pay attention to building a team of cadres and civil servants with the qualities of "discipline, creativity, daring to think, daring to do", meeting the requirements of tasks in the new period. At the same time, focus on investing and developing the technical and social infrastructure system, effectively attracting investment resources, especially exploiting the potential of Tan Trao industrial cluster and key projects such as the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway, Nam Do Son Port, etc., creating momentum for the rapid and sustainable development of the locality.

Inauguration of the "Great Unity" house in Tan Trao commune

On the eve of the National Day, the working delegation of the city and Kien Thuy district held the inauguration ceremony and handed over the "Great Unity" house to Ms. Nguyen Thi Tu - a near-poor household with extremely difficult housing circumstances in Da Ngu village, Tan Trao commune. The house was solidly built with a total cost of 300 million VND, from the "For the Poor" Fund of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at all levels and the active contributions of the community. The support for the construction of the "Great Unity" house not only helps households stabilize their housing, settle down and make a living, but also clearly demonstrates the sense of responsibility and deep concern of the Party, State and Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in social security work, caring for people's lives.
