Nam Dan District receives Certificate of recognition for meeting advanced new rural standards

The first district in the province to meet advanced new rural standards

Nam Dan district was recognized by the Prime Minister as meeting new rural standards in 2017. Determining that new rural construction is a continuous process with a starting point and no end point, Party committees at all levels, authorities, socio -political organizations and people in the district have enthusiastically participated and actively responded to the construction of advanced new rural areas and model new rural areas.

Over the past 7 years of implementation, overcoming difficulties, the Party Committee, Government and People of Nam Dan district have constantly strived, promoted internal resources, mobilized external resources; invested human resources, resources, enthusiasm, creativity, persistently organized implementation and achieved many positive results.

The district's production value growth rate in 2024 will reach 12.5%. Average income per capita in 2024 will reach 66.15 million VND, an increase of 83.75% compared to 2017. The multidimensional poverty rate will decrease to 1.83%.

Up to now, 15/18 communes have met the advanced new rural standards, 3 communes have been assessed by the district to meet the advanced new rural standards. Of which, 7 communes have met the model new rural standards; Nam Dan town has met the civilized urban standards. Nam Dan district has met 9 criteria according to the set of criteria for advanced new rural districts, period 2021-2025; the appearance of the countryside has been renewed, increasingly spacious, clean and beautiful.

Nam Dan district currently has 81 OCOP products with 3 stars or higher, of which 9 are 4-star products, ranking first in the province in terms of the number of OCOP products; 4 locations in the district are recognized as tourist destinations...

Many technical and social infrastructure works have been invested in new construction, upgraded and repaired quite synchronously; the economy has developed in the right direction; culture - health - education have had positive changes; social security has been ensured; political security, order and social safety have been consolidated and enhanced.

With the achievements, on May 14, 2025, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 921/QD-TTg recognizing Nam Dan district as meeting advanced new rural standards in 2024. Nam Dan is the first district in Nghe An province to meet advanced new rural standards.

Along with the construction of advanced new rural areas, Nam Dan district has focused on directing the implementation and completion of model new rural criteria. Up to now, Nam Dan district has achieved 40/42 model new rural district contents.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Van De - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, on behalf of the provincial leaders, commended and acknowledged the important contributions of Party committees, authorities at all levels, the Fatherland Front, mass organizations and all people of Nam Dan district in the past period.

Affirming that building new rural areas is a continuous process with a starting point and no ending point, increasingly going into depth and sustainability with the motto "Ecological agriculture - modern countryside - civilized farmers", in the coming time, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De requested the Party Committee, Government and People of the newly established communes (currently of Nam Dan - PV) after the administrative unit arrangement to continue to promote the achieved results, be more proactive and creative in implementing political tasks, developing the economy - society, ensuring national defense - security.

Continue to maintain and improve the quality of new rural criteria, especially criteria on environment, income, culture, digital transformation, security and order to aim at building new communes into model new rural units, developing green, smart and sustainable.

Mobilize and integrate resources in new rural construction to create strong and synchronous resources to build, continue to maintain and improve the achieved criteria.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De also requested Nam Dan district to continue to effectively restructure the agricultural sector and develop the rural economy. Focus on developing rural industries; improve the efficiency of cooperatives; improve the quality of vocational training for workers... contributing to increasing people's income in a sustainable manner.

Along with that, preserve, maintain and promote the good traditional cultural values of the homeland and the nation. Build and foster village and neighborhood relationships that are increasingly close, cohesive, and durable, with a civilized lifestyle, security, and order guaranteed. Improve the quality of the living environment; build rural landscapes throughout the district that are always bright - green - clean - beautiful, and safe.
