After investigation, Chinese media reported that the two men turned out to be brothers, and the person sitting in the bamboo basket was their mother.

Elder brother Chen Chuan, 58, and younger brother Chen Li, 55, were forced to use a bamboo basket to carry their mother to the hospital because she suffered from motion sickness and could not use a wheelchair due to dizziness, according to the South China Morning Post on October 28.

Ms. Zhang Qingrong, Mr. Chen Li's wife, said that their mother usually did not like to go to the hospital when she was sick.

On October 23, when the mother felt unwell, the two brothers decided to carry her to the hospital.

"Before, they often carried her on their backs or held her hands while she walked to the hospital," Ms. Zhang recalled. But this time, the mother said she felt more comfortable sitting in a bamboo basket.

It took the two brothers more than 20 minutes to take turns carrying their mother to the hospital.

According to the wife, the husband and his brother used to work in another city. Last year, they moved back to their hometown of Chongqing and opened a noodle shop so they could take care of their mother every day.

The video clip has received more than 1.4 million likes and 60,000 comments on social media platform Douyin, not to mention the clip posted on other social media platforms. Everyone praised the Chen brothers for being filial to their mother.
