Ahead of the 2024/25 AFC Champions League Women's Semi-Final between host Wuhan Jiangda and Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club, head coach Lu Dinh Tuan affirmed that the Vietnamese representative will compete with the highest determination to achieve good results.

“We are very honored to be in the final round of the tournament,” said coach Lu Dinh Tuan. “I took over the team after the quarter-finals because the previous coach had other personal commitments. With my own strategy, I am focusing on helping the players improve both tactically and mentally.”

Assessing the opponent, Mr. Lu Dinh Tuan said: "Wuhan Jiangda is a very strong team, has won the regional championship many times, owns many national players and quality foreign players. But we are ready for this challenge."

The upcoming semi-final will be the first time the HCMC Women’s Club will play away in the tournament, after four consecutive home matches. Striker Huynh Nhu, who has extensive international experience, stressed that this will be a big psychological challenge.

“We played at home in the group stage and the quarter-finals. But reaching the finals, playing away from home in front of thousands of Wuhan fans is a completely different experience," Huynh Nhu shared. "The team that makes the most of the opportunity will be the winning team."

The semi-final match between Wuhan Jiangda and Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club will take place at 3pm on May 21 at Wuhan Sports Center Stadium. This is the first time a Vietnamese women's club has participated in the semi-finals of Asia's most prestigious club tournament for women.
