Will iPhone 19 be the first bezel-less iPhone?
Recent rumors suggest that Apple is working on a bezel-less display that would completely eliminate the bezels around the display, similar to the Apple Watch. However, this technology may not be ready for the iPhone 18 in 2026 and will have to wait until the iPhone 19 in 2027.
The bezel-less display promises a stunning visual experience, but it also poses a number of technical challenges, especially when it comes to durability. Curved screens on the sides, like the Apple Watch, could make the iPhone more vulnerable to damage from impacts.
Currently, Apple is working with Samsung and LG to develop new display technologies, including:
- TFE: Protects OLED display from moisture and oxygen.
- OCA: Stick transparent adhesive films onto the curved edge.
Additionally, Apple also needs to find a solution to integrate the camera and Face ID under the screen.
Despite many difficulties, the technology world believes that Apple will be determined to pursue a bezel-less design for the iPhone in the future. Is the iPhone 19 the right time for this change?
