On October 11, the Board of Directors of Nguyen Hue Secondary School (Hai Chau Ward, Da Nang City) said that in response to the call of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City to support people to overcome the consequences of storm No. 10 (storm Bualoi), teachers and students of the school spread the spirit of sharing through practical actions, raising nearly 206 million VND to send to people in the Northern and North Central provinces that suffered heavy damage after storms and floods.

Among them, the story of Hoang Le Bao Quyen (student of grade 7/9) moved many people.

Initially, Bao Quyen and her family contributed 10 million VND. But after seeing on the small screen images of houses and schools submerged in water, elderly people and children having to climb onto roofs to wait for rescue..., she asked her mother to break her piggy bank, take out all the money she had saved for over a year to send an additional 38.52 million VND to people in the flood-affected areas.

"Seeing how people are suffering, I want to do something to help them. I haven't planned to use my savings for anything yet, so I think I'll send it all to help people overcome difficulties," Bao Quyen shared.

Ms. Le Thi Kim Vui, Bao Quyen's mother, said that the family often participates in charity activities, so her daughter soon developed a loving and sharing personality. In 2024, she also broke her piggy bank to support the people in the North who were devastated by storms and floods.

According to Mr. Vo Thanh Phuoc, Principal of Nguyen Hue Secondary School, Bao Quyen is a good student, studious, sociable and compassionate. "Simple actions like that are a vivid lesson about compassion and responsibility to the community that the school always wants to instill in each student," said Mr. Phuoc.

All donations will be received by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City and transferred to the Relief Fund to support local people to quickly stabilize their lives after natural disasters. The donation period lasts from October 7 to November 7.
