On the morning of May 10, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City coordinated with Sunrise Events Vietnam (SEV) to organize the IRONKIDS and SUNRISE SPRINT tournaments, within the framework of the IRONMAN 70.3 Da Nang 2025 competition.
Early morning of May 10, at Son Thuy beach (Ngu Hanh Son district, Da Nang city), the SUNRISE SPRINT Vietnam competition took place with 3 short-distance triathlons including 750m swimming, 20km cycling and 5km running. This is a competition for beginners to compete in IRONMAN to test their strength or prepare for longer distances.
At 5:00 a.m. on May 10, hundreds of athletes participating in the SUNRISE SPRINT Vietnam tournament were present at Son Thuy beach, ready to enter the race track.

In the 750m swimming event, the weather was favorable and the waves were calm, making the swimming route easier for the athletes. The cycling event had a route from Son Thuy beach running through the roads along the beach such as Vo Nguyen Giap, Truong Sa... The athletes cycled through the resorts, at the end of the competition, the athletes would run through some important milestones, ending the competition at Son Thuy beach.

After many hours of intense competition, the athletes overcame the challenge to complete the triathlon of the SUNRISE SPRINT tournament.
At 12:15, the last athlete reached the finish line and the Organizing Committee awarded the prizes.
Specifically, in the men's group, 1st place is athlete Brad Roode (time 1 hour 4 minutes 51 seconds); 2nd place is athlete Tran Dinh Tau (1 hour 6 minutes 26 seconds); 3rd place is athlete Victor Bailey Steffensen (1 hour 8 minutes 52 seconds).
In the women's group, 1st place is athlete Aleksandra Grafo (1 hour 11 minutes 29 seconds), followed by athlete Nguyen Thu Thao (1 hour 16 minutes 2 seconds), athlete Pham Thuy Vi (1 hour 16 minutes 58 seconds).

Also on the morning of May 10, IRONKIDS Vietnam officially took place at 8:45 a.m., with the events of 2 events (swimming and running) and 3 events (swimming - cycling - running) for children from 5 to 15 years old.

IRONKIDS Vietnam aims to encourage an active lifestyle and nurture the next generation of resilient athletes. In recognition of the athletes' efforts and determination, after the race, the "little steelmen" received certificates of completion of the IRONKIDS Vietnam 2025 in Da Nang.
Having just completed the swimming and running triathlon, Hoang Ngoc Dan (12 years old, Da Nang City) happily shared: "After a series of days of training with my parents, my whole family has now become "steel men". No matter what the results are, I am still very satisfied, because I have tried my best."

Standing at the finish line waiting for her 13-year-old son to conquer the triathlon track, Ms. Do Thanh Van (a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City) said that in order for her son to be able to participate in the race, the family had registered many months ago.
"The whole family arranged a trip to Da Nang during the time our son participated in the tournament. The trip to Da Nang is also a meaningful gift for the children after the end of the school year," said Ms. Van.

Tomorrow the IRONMAN 70.3 Vietnam competition will take place.
Da Nang City Police issued a notice on the time and location of traffic bans, cuts, and traffic diversions to serve the competition as follows:
On May 11, the IRONMAN 70.3 competition will take place from 5:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. with the events of 1.9 km of swimming, 90 km of cycling and 21 km of running. Athletes will travel through Truong Sa, Vo Nguyen Giap, Hoang Sa, Le Duc Tho and Nguyen Tat Thanh streets. In particular, athletes will travel through the intersections of Hoang Sa - Le Duc Tho, Yet Kieu - Le Duc Tho and the entrance areas in front of beaches, hotels, restaurants and resorts.
The entire lane adjacent to the sea will be used for athletes to compete. Da Nang City Police will guide vehicles to continue to circulate in both directions on the remaining lane (adjacent to the residential area of the above route).
In particular, during the competition, some routes will be proactively blocked or cut off when athletes are passing through; the police force will flexibly open the road for normal traffic when there are no athletes.
