RT reported that on November 26, Mr. Netanyahu spoke about his conversation with US President Joe Biden regarding the war with Hamas.

Mr. Netanyahu reiterated that Israel is ready to extend the ceasefire with Hamas, which is scheduled to end on the evening of November 27 (local time), on the condition that for each day of the ceasefire, Hamas will release 10 more hostages.

"At the same time, I also told President Biden that when the ceasefire ends, we will put all our efforts into realizing our goals: Eradicating Hamas, ensuring that Gaza will not return to the way it was, and of course releasing all of our hostages," he added.

Hamas has taken about 240 hostages, including many foreigners, after launching a surprise attack on Israeli-controlled territory on October 7.

Tense negotiations brokered by Qatar resulted in a deal last week in which Hamas agreed to release 50 hostages held in Gaza in exchange for 150 Palestinians in stages. The ceasefire also allowed hundreds of trucks carrying humanitarian aid to enter the blockaded Gaza Strip.

So far, 39 Israeli hostages and 117 Palestinian prisoners have been exchanged by the two sides. In addition, more than 20 others have been released by Hamas in separate deals.

In a statement on 26 November, Hamas said it was seeking to extend the ceasefire "through serious efforts to increase the number of those released". A source close to the group told AFP that Hamas was ready to extend the ceasefire by two to four days. "Hamas could secure the release of 20 to 40 Israeli prisoners", the source said.
