According to Al Jazeera , Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said on July 5 that the negotiating delegation will arrive in Qatar's capital Doha on July 6 after receiving instructions from the Israeli leader amid Tel Aviv's continued attacks on the Gaza Strip.
However, the Israeli Prime Minister's Office said that the Hamas forces' proposals in the ceasefire proposal were "unacceptable".
Earlier, on July 4, Hamas said it had given a "positive" response to the latest US proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza and a hostage release agreement, affirming its readiness to immediately begin direct negotiations with Israel to narrow the "remaining gap".
Al Jazeera reporter Hamdah Salhut explained that Hamas has asked for three core amendments to the proposal.
“They want the talks to end the conflict to continue if the 60-day ceasefire passes,” said reporter Hamdah Salhut.
Hamas also wants humanitarian aid to be delivered to Gaza through international mechanisms led by the United Nations instead of the Gaza Humanitarian Fund (GHF) managed by the US and Israel.
More than 700 Palestinians have been killed and thousands more injured while seeking aid at GHF sites since the organization began operating in the Gaza Strip in late May 2025, the source said.
Hamas has stressed that any ceasefire must include guarantees that Israel will permanently end the conflict in Gaza.
