Israel attacks Iranian state TV

According to the Daily Mail, Israel launched an attack on the headquarters building of the Islamic Republic of Iran Radio (IRIB) on June 16.

Iranian media reported that several station staff were killed in the Israeli attack.

The attack happened as the presenter was criticizing Israel on live television before she had to leave the live broadcast.

"Israel has launched a military operation against the news network of the Islamic Republic of Iran. But the Israeli authorities do not realize that the voice of the Islamic revolution and the great nation of Iran will not be silenced by a military operation," a senior official of the broadcasting agency said.

Iran's state TV has resumed live coverage after stopping broadcasting for several minutes due to the Israeli attack.

In a statement issued after Israeli airstrikes on Iranian state television in Tehran, Defense Minister Israel Katz threatened to strike at the Iranian regime "everywhere."

"The Iranian regime's propaganda and incitement broadcast was attacked by Israeli forces. We will strike against them everywhere," Katz said, noting that the airstrike came after residents in the area had been told to evacuate.
