Jeep Compass 2026 revealed, shares chassis with Peugeot 5008

The all-new 2026 Jeep Compass compact SUV is set to be available in all-electric, hybrid, and plug-in hybrid versions.

Jeep is almost ready to launch the next generation of the Compass in the European market. However, thanks to a few leaked images, we can get a preview of the design of this new 2026 Jeep Compass SUV before the car is officially introduced.

Leaked images show the new Jeep Compass SUV with a more square design than the previous generation. The cars in the leaked images are of different versions. Among them, the Neon Green car is likely to be the all-electric version, indicated by the “e” symbol on the rear trunk lid.

The white one with black trim and distinctive front bumper guard could be the off-road focused Trailhawk. Moving into the new generation, the Compass has clearer lines, inspired by the Jeep Avenger compact SUV. It has square wheel arches, sharp LED lights and narrow air intakes in the front bumper.

Thanks to the shorter front and rear ends, the new Compass looks more agile than the previous generation. The Jeep Compass will be developed on the new STLA Medium chassis platform of parent company Stellantis, which is also used for other Stellantis SUVs such as Peugeot 3008/5008, Opel Grandland and Citroen C5 Aircross.

However, Jeep is expected to add specialized off-road features to higher-end versions, especially the Trailhawk. Inside, the 2026 Jeep Compass also gets a new look with a large entertainment screen placed above the row of buttons and knobs.

The center console and dashboard are accented with aluminum-like details. The version pictured appears to be the high-end version, so it comes with a dual sunroof, a head-up display (HUD), and leather seats with contrasting stitching.

Specific engine information for this SUV has not been announced yet. Jeep promises to provide “an expanded engine range with e-Hybrid, e-Hybrid plug-in and all-electric options” for the new Compass.

However, in some markets outside Europe, the car may still be offered with a conventional petrol engine. It is likely that the car will have versions equipped with a 4-wheel drive system, keeping with Jeep's off-road tradition.

Based on the Peugeot e-3008, the all-electric version of the 2026 Jeep Compass can reach a maximum capacity of up to 321 horsepower thanks to two electric motors. In addition, there are battery options with a capacity of 73 kWh and 97 kWh.

Stellantis has confirmed that it will produce and announce the price of the 2026 Jeep Compass in Italy by the end of 2025. Initially, models for the North American market were expected to be assembled in Canada from 2026. However, due to issues related to US tariffs on imported vehicles, the Compass's launch in this market has been delayed.
