Ho Chi Minh City has issued instructions on information on enrollment of non-public schools and proposed plans to assign enrollment quotas to monitor and improve the education quality of this school system.

According to information from the Department of Education and Training, from the 2025-2026 school year, the Department of Education and Training will develop a plan to propose that the city use external assessment results for non-public schools as a basis for assigning enrollment targets for first-level classes, in order to ensure effective implementation of the 2018 GeneralEducation Program.

Enrollment is based on the proactive plan of each school, not exceeding the annual quota and enrollment records in accordance with regulations. Parents register on the city's enrollment page as prescribed by the Department of Education and Training, using the identification code declared on the enrollment database to confirm the records.

If this proposal is approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, it will be one of the latest regulations of Ho Chi Minh City in the management, supervision and improvement of the education quality of the non-public school system, starting with enrollment.

Previously, according to the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, recently, on the websites of some non-public high schools, information on enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year was announced, including specific information on the expected enrollment quota for grade 10 , tuition fees, etc. Meanwhile, currently, the specialized agencies of the department are synthesizing, reviewing, and assessing the conditions of facilities, equipment, and staff as a basis for assessing and assigning enrollment quotas for the new school year to non-public schools .

Therefore, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City requires schools to only disseminate information and introduce the enrollment plan of the unit for the 2025-2026 school year on the content of the typical and outstanding educational program (if any); on the quality of the teaching staff, on modern facilities and equipment, some new educational program activities, the content of the school's development strategy, outstanding activities that will be included in teaching, activities in the next school year... Absolutely do not inform about content that has not been assessed and approved by competent authorities.
