More than 400 young players compete in the national children's football tournament

The National Children's Football Tournament - Nestlé Milo Cup 2025 officially opened on the morning of June 7 at Hai Phong Youth Cultural Palace.

The event attracted 440 players from 22 provinces and cities across the country, creating a useful and interesting playground for young players; at the same time, it was an opportunity for young talents to express their passion for football and exchange and learn.

The National Children's Football Tournament is a tournament in the national competition system, organized annually by the Young Pioneer and Children's Newspapers in coordination with the Vietnam Football Federation since 1997. For nearly 3 decades, the tournament has become a familiar sports destination every summer, receiving the attention of leaders at all levels, parents and especially children across the country.

The young players will compete in a regional qualifying round, with the goal of finding the best teams to advance to the national finals.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Tran Thi Hoang Mai, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong City, emphasized: "Football is the most popular sport today, has a strong influence in the community and is especially loved by children. The successful organization of the tournament not only contributes to the development of the school sports movement, but also creates a healthy and beneficial playground for the young generation."

Ms. Mai also requested relevant units to coordinate closely, organize carefully, ensure safety, objectivity and fairness throughout the tournament. She expected the young athletes to compete with all their might in the spirit of fair-play, thereby nurturing their passion for football and developing comprehensive physical fitness.
