Up to this point, many universities have predicted the admission score for the first round of 2025.
Contrary to initial predictions, the benchmark trends of many industries have fluctuated in an upward direction.
Dr. Nguyen Trung Nhan, Head of Training Department, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry, said that about 50% of the school's admission codes have increased benchmark scores compared to last year.
Some industries recorded significant increases such as: Industries in the technology - engineering group such as mechatronics, electricity - electronics, automation are expected to increase by 2 points, marketing is expected to increase by 1.5 points, pharmacy is expected to increase slightly by 0.5 points...
In general, with the method of considering high school graduation exam scores, the expected standard score for many majors is between 24-25 points, the highest is nearly 26.5 points (30-point scale).
Correspondingly, the expected benchmark scores for the majors also increased significantly in other methods. In particular, the high school transcript review method recorded a very high score, 27-29 points.
The highest score in the Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment exam is nearly 1,000 points, while many other majors scored over 800 points.
For "selective" majors and English-enhanced programs, the benchmark for assessing competency is predicted to be at the floor level (600 points).
"This increase is surprising," Mr. Nhan commented.

According to Mr. Nhan, after the 4th virtual filtering nationwide, the basic scores have converged. According to regulations, in the remaining 2 virtual filtering rounds, schools can only adjust a maximum of 10%, so the benchmark scores only fluctuated slightly compared to the 4th virtual filtering round.
Tonight, the school will announce the official benchmark scores after the final round of nationwide virtual screening.
Many majors of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade also have expected benchmark scores with an increasing trend.
Master Pham Thai Son, Director of the Admissions and Communications Center, said that after 4 virtual filters, the standard score of this school is at 17-24.5 points (on a scale of 30). The majors with the highest standard scores are marketing, international business, and logistics at the same level as last year, around 24.5 points.
Notably, industries with a low benchmark score of around 20 points in 2024 are showing signs of "heating up" by increasing to around 21.5-22 points. Some industries that have increased include: Electronics, automation, mechatronics, data science , information security, etc.
The remaining majors such as Food Technology, Information Technology... have the same admission score as last year, 23-23.5 points.
The lowest is for environmental engineering technology, aquaculture, materials technology, etc., the expected admission score is 17 points, 1 point higher than the floor score.
"The expected benchmark score is equal to or higher than last year's benchmark score. This score will change little in the last two virtual filters, perhaps only about 0.25 points," said Mr. Thai Son.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade is expected to announce the admission scores at 6pm tonight.

Meanwhile, Nha Trang University has a downward trend as initially predicted. Associate Professor Dr. To Van Phuong, Head of the Department of University Training, Nha Trang University, said that the school expected the score to decrease slightly because the majority of candidates applying to the school were in the second choice.
The benchmark score for the high school graduation exam is 20-27 points (on a 40-point scale), about 3 points lower than last year.
He said the large virtual rate will make middle and lower-ranking schools have to carefully consider their admission rates.
"Some key majors of the school still have high admission scores. We are determined not to lower the admission scores too low to ensure training quality, and at the same time, create opportunities for candidates with high scores but not admitted in the first round to participate in additional recruitment," said Mr. Phuong.
Besides the schools that have basically determined the benchmark, there are still places that are "sweating".
The principal of a public university in Ho Chi Minh City said that the school is still not confident about the benchmark score because there are too many fake scores. Last year, the school's benchmark score was around 24-25 points, but this year it is difficult to determine.
"The departments are still highly focused, analyzing data to come up with the most accurate numbers," he informed.
The virtual filtering process on the Ministry of Education and Training system consists of 6 times. Today, the last virtual filtering will be performed, after that, schools will start announcing the benchmark scores.
The announcement of the first round of university admission scores is expected to take place from the afternoon of August 20 to before 5:00 p.m. on August 22.
Candidates confirm online admission for the first round on the common system of the Ministry of Education and Training before 5:00 p.m. on August 30.
