Attending the opening ceremony were comrades: Pham Thanh Ha, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam; Dang Ngoc Hau, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the State Bank of Region 3; leaders of the head offices of banks with branches in Region 3, including the provinces of Son La, Dien Bien and Lai Chau.

This year's Regional III Banking Sports Festival is the first time it has been held on a regional scale, gathering nearly 600 athletes from 8 delegations, representing more than 2,500 officials, civil servants, and employees of 41 SBV units in the Region. The athletes competed in the following sports: Soccer, badminton, chess, table tennis, pickleball, and volleyball.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Mr. Dang Ngoc Hau, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized: In recent years, the Vietnamese banking industry in general and regional banking units in particular have made many important contributions to the socio -economic development of localities. In Son La, banking activities have always played a vital role in the economy, an effective capital channel for investment and development, promoting production and business, improving the quality of people's lives. Actively support businesses, cooperatives and people to access preferential loans for production and development of priority areas according to the policies of the Party and the Government. Actively participate in social security work, demonstrate noble deeds, demonstrate social responsibility and solidarity with the community. Propose that the State Bank of Region 3 and credit institutions in the area continue to promote the achieved results, improve the quality and efficiency of operations, and commit to accompanying the province in implementing socio-economic development tasks.

Comrade Dang Ngoc Hau presented flowers from the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee to congratulate the Sports Congress.

The opening ceremony took place solemnly with a meaningful parade of sports symbols: leading the way was the red flag with a yellow star, followed by the portrait of the great President Ho Chi Minh; after the portrait of President Ho Chi Minh was the flag of the 1st Regional 3 Banking Sports Congress, 2025 and the red flag block.

Next were 8 groups of athletes and referees. The parade groups demonstrated the spirit of solidarity, youthfulness, will to overcome difficulties and bravery of the Banking sector staff - those who are contributing to the development of the country every day.

Leaders of the State Bank of Vietnam and the Organizing Committee presented souvenir flags and flowers to the athletes.

At the opening ceremony, the Banking Sector III launched a fundraising campaign to support people in provinces affected by storms No. 10 and 11, demonstrating the spirit of mutual love and profound social responsibility of the entire sector's staff.

In celebration of the 1st Banking Sports Festival, the opening ceremony featured a special art program imbued with the spirit of sports, encouraging the athletes to enter the competition with enthusiasm, solidarity, and honesty. The Regional Banking Sports Festival III will take place until October 19, 2025.
