Opening of the 2nd Son La Province Dance and Folk Dance Festival, 2025

The organizers awarded souvenir flags to the clubs participating in the festival.

This year's festival attracted 30 clubs from 9 communes and wards in the province, with nearly 500 contestants, performing 37 dance and folk dance performances. These are the best performances selected through the preliminary round by the jury through scoring video clips previously submitted by the teams.

The entries are divided into two categories: Dance (including group dance and male and female couple dance) and folk dance (team choice). The dance content is diverse with genres such as: Chachacha, Bebop, Bachata, Rumba, Tango, Flamenco, Valse, Samba, Paso Doble, Jive... Folk dance content encourages the use of background music to express national cultural identity, praising the homeland and country. Each folk dance club registers 1 team entry, with at least 12 members, ensuring the requirements of music , staging and artistry, in accordance with traditional customs.

The 2nd Son La Province Dance and Folk Dance Festival in 2025 is one of the activities to celebrate the 130th anniversary of the founding of Son La province (October 10, 1895 - October 10, 2025) and the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20, 1930 - October 20, 2025).

The event is an opportunity for dance clubs and folk dance clubs across the province to exchange, learn, promote solidarity, express passion and artistic talent, contributing to promoting the mass cultural and artistic movement and dance and folk dance activities more and more widely.

Right after the opening ceremony, 18 outstanding performances were performed on the first night of the competition, creating a vibrant and colorful atmosphere, attracting a large audience to watch and cheer.
