Opening of the 2024 National Rowing and Canoeing Championship

(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the morning of November 1, at the Rowing Training Area, Minh Duc town, Thuy Nguyen district, the city's Department of Culture and Sports organized the opening ceremony of the 2024 National Rowing and Canoeing Championship.

Participating in the 2024 National Rowing and Canoeing Championship are 31 athlete delegations from provinces and cities across the country with a total of nearly 500 athletes.

The tournament takes place from October 25 to November 10, 2024, at the Boat Racing Training Area, Minh Duc town, Thuy Nguyen district.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports Tran Thi Hoang Mai emphasized: Rowing is a sport that is developing strongly both domestically and internationally. In recent times, Vietnam has had many athletes achieve high results at the Southeast Asian and Continental Championships.

The 2024 National Rowing and Canoeing Championship is an opportunity for provinces, cities and sectors across the country to compete and affirm their position; thereby discovering and adding athletes with outstanding achievements to the National team to participate in international competitions in the coming time. At the same time, through the tournament, it aims to test, evaluate the capacity and improve the management and organization of competitions at the local level.

For the 2024 National Rowing and Canoeing Championship to be successful, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports Tran Thi Hoang Mai requested relevant units and members of the Organizing Committee to coordinate closely, organize carefully, ensure safety, create all favorable conditions for the Tournament to take place with the highest results; request referees to run the tournament accurately and objectively, athletes to compete with all their might, strictly implement the Laws, Regulations and regulations of the Organizing Committee.
