This year, the third Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day is organized in a diverse way, combining traditional and modern elements, with 4 messages: "Good books need readers", "Precious books for friends", "Give good books - Buy real books", "Good books: Eyes read - ears listen". With meaningful messages, the third Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day is an important and meaningful cultural event for book lovers, especially young people, contributing to arousing the passion and interest in reading in the community and society.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, emphasized that books are a treasure trove of human knowledge, a teacher who provides us with an endless source of knowledge, nourishes our souls and character, teaches us how to live, how to be human, and strives for noble humanistic values of truth, goodness, and beauty.

To bring books closer to readers, to spread knowledge more and more, to make culture an endogenous strength, a resource and a driving force for national development, as affirmed in the Documents of the 13th National Party Congress, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia requested that Party committees, authorities, ministries, branches and relevant units continue to thoroughly grasp and promote propaganda and education work, raising awareness in the political system and the whole society about the position, meaning and importance of books and reading culture.
At the same time, focus on investing in and supporting the establishment of institutions and activities to promote reading in the school system, agencies and units, creating reading habits among all classes of people; encouraging good models in reading, researching and applying knowledge from books to life; promoting the creation of works, books and projects of high value in ideology, science,education and culture, serving the increasingly diverse and rich needs of readers; promoting digital transformation in publishing, printing and distributing books; expanding exchange and cooperation relations, actively participating in international book activities.
The Head of the Central Propaganda Department affirmed that the future of the country belongs to the young generation rich in knowledge, will and aspiration. Reading culture must be an essential need, a need for self-study, self-improvement of knowledge, imbued in each person, each cell of society, so that our souls are constantly enriched with knowledge and noble human values, becoming useful citizens for the country, confident enough to step out into the world.

The opening ceremony of the third Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in Hanoi will kick off a series of activities to celebrate Book and Reading Culture Day across the country to bring a new spirit: Where people are, reading culture develops there; where readers are, books must go there.
The third Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in Hanoi took place from April 17 to May 1 with many diverse activities and events to honor books and promote the development of reading culture. Some notable events include: Exhibition and Book Fair to celebrate the third Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day; Online Exhibition and Book Fair to serve overseas Vietnamese people; Launching Ceremony of Reading Day for Youth... and many activities to celebrate Book and Reading Culture Day across the country.
In particular, at the book exhibition space, readers will be able to admire valuable books about the special national historical site of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam; photos and books about the country and people of Vietnam in modern electronic versions and direct publications. This year's Book Fair also attracted about 60 participating units, displaying and providing over 40,000 valuable books.
On this occasion, the Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution coordinated with the Department of Foreign Information and publishers, relevant agencies to organize an exhibition and online book fair on the national digital platform vietnam.vn with the theme "Good books find readers". Readers can also directly choose to buy books through the direct connection between the vietnam.vn platform and the online book trading floor Books365.vn./.
