On May 23, at the headquarters of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, Jeong Seung-yoon, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission of Korea (ACRC), led a delegation to meet with Comrade Phan Dinh Trac, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, Standing Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption and Negative Phenomena, and Standing Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee on Judicial Reform.
Also attending were Comrade Vo Van Dung, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, and other leaders of departments and units of the Central Internal Affairs Commission.
During the meeting, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee Phan Dinh Trac expressed his pleasure at meeting and wished Vice President of ACRC Jeong Seung-yoon and the ACRC delegation a successful and productive visit to Vietnam.
Head of the Central Committee for Internal Affairs Phan Dinh Trac affirmed that Vietnam and South Korea share many similarities in history and culture. With the two countries upgrading their relationship to a "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership," Vietnam-South Korea relations continue to develop well and are becoming increasingly profound and effective in various fields, with strengthened political trust. Vietnam highly appreciates South Korea's Indo- Pacific Strategy, which identifies Vietnam as a key partner. Vietnam also highly values its cooperation with South Korea, especially in economics, trade and investment, innovation, improving the quality of growth and national competitiveness. South Korea is currently one of Vietnam's leading trade and investment partners.
The Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission emphasized that the future of Vietnam-Korea cooperation depends heavily on the dynamic, creative, and effective cooperation of agencies, organizations, and individuals from both countries. The signing and implementation of the Memorandum of Cooperation on Anti-Corruption between the Central Internal Affairs Commission and the ACRC is a concrete manifestation and affirmation of the strong commitment of both sides to further enhance the substantive, comprehensive, and effective cooperation between the two countries in the fight against corruption.

Comrade Phan Dinh Trac stated that, in the past period, both sides have basically made efforts to implement and achieved many important results regarding the commitments under the Memorandum of Understanding. The effective and valuable experiences of South Korea have been studied and selected by the Central Internal Affairs Commission to propose their application in accordance with Vietnam's practical situation; he expressed firm confidence that in the coming time, the relationship between the two agencies will experience new, dynamic, and effective developments, contributing to further promoting the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and South Korea.
Speaking at the meeting, ACRC Vice President Jeong Seung-yoon, on behalf of the high-level delegation of the Korean Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, thanked the leaders of the Central Internal Affairs Commission for their warm and cordial reception. The ACRC Vice President affirmed that Korea and Vietnam share similar historical backgrounds, resulting in close and friendly relations between the people of the two countries. Many Vietnamese people live and work in Korea, while many Koreans invest and do business in Vietnam. They serve as a bridge and will lay the foundation for the development of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
ACRC Vice President Jeong Seung-yoon emphasized that the ACRC and the Central Internal Affairs Commission officially established a relationship through a Memorandum of Cooperation in 2010, marking 15 years since their establishment. Throughout this time, mutual trust has been built between the two sides, and it is believed that in the future, they will continue to achieve even greater results in cooperation and experience exchange, contributing to effective anti-corruption efforts and strengthening the relationship between the two countries.
* On the same day, in Hanoi, Comrade Vo Van Dung, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, chaired a meeting with the delegation of the Korean Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission led by Vice Chairman Jeong Seung-yoon.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Vo Van Dung affirmed that the Central Internal Affairs Commission highly appreciates the determination of the ACRC and the Korean Government in the fight against corruption and negative practices, in order to build Korea into a developed nation with clear integrity, as well as to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the Korean people.
The Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Internal Affairs Commission expressed particular admiration for the approach and achievements of the ACRC, such as: enacting the Law on Prohibiting Favor-Seeking (2016), the Law on Preventing Conflicts of Interest (2022); assessing corruption risks for laws and regulations issued by central agencies and public organizations; comprehensively improving the integrity assessment system; and promptly and strictly handling many cases and acts of corruption…
Comrade Vo Van Dung suggested that both sides should maintain annual exchanges of delegations between the two agencies; strengthen the exchange of documents and hold online meetings on new regulations and laws on preventing and combating corruption and negative practices; and share best practices and effective methods in the fight against corruption…
To further enhance the effectiveness of cooperation between the two sides in the fight against corruption, and to contribute to further promoting the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and South Korea, the Central Internal Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission of South Korea have agreed to extend the Memorandum of Cooperation on Anti-Corruption signed with the ACRC for the next period (2024-2026).
The Central Internal Affairs Commission hopes that both sides will organize more specific, practical, and effective cooperation activities, thereby contributing to the continued development of the good friendship between the two countries in the future…/.
