Opening of the Literary Creation Camp "For National Security and Peaceful Life"

The writing camp is a key activity, aiming to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Public Security Day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the 20th anniversary of the National Day for National Security Protection (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025). This is an opportunity for writers, professional and non-professional writers across the country to have the opportunity to penetrate reality, directly contact the People's Public Security force to learn more deeply about the life, work and silent sacrifices of the People's Public Security soldiers.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Colonel Tran Cao Kieu, Deputy Director of the People's Public Security Communications Department, Director-Editor-in-Chief of the People's Public Security Publishing House, said: The novel, story and memoir writing contest on the theme "For national security and peaceful life" was first held in 1999, with the goals of: widely disseminating the life, arduous fighting and sacrifices of police officers; encouraging professional and non-professional writers, inside and outside the police force, to compose works of ideological and artistic value; shaping and developing literary topics related to the People's Public Security force.

Up to now, the contest has been successfully organized 4 times and is currently in its 5th phase (2022-2025). Outstanding works, such as: "Phận Willow", "Sát thủ online", "Bao tham" or "Gia toc tuong doi" ... contribute to honoring the image of the People's Public Security soldier who is loyal to the Party and devoted to the people; at the same time, arousing patriotism and awareness of protecting security and order among the people.

Continuing that tradition, the 5th contest, aiming at the industry's important anniversaries, promises to bring valuable literary works, reflecting truthfully and vividly the silent battle to protect a peaceful life.

The 5th Novel, Story and Journal Writing Competition on the theme "For National Security and Peaceful Life" has organized two Writing Camps in Quang Ninh and Ba Ria-Vung Tau. This writing camp is one of the important activities of the competition, aiming to create conditions for writers to penetrate reality, directly approach the working and fighting environment of the force.

Writer Nguyen Binh Phuong, Vice President of the Writers' Association, spoke at the opening ceremony.

Through activities such as visiting units, meeting soldiers, and accessing case files, writers can collect vivid and authentic materials, thereby inspiring their creativity. Real-life experiences help works accurately and deeply reflect the lives, exploits, and silent sacrifices of the force. This ensures that works have both literary value and higheducational and propaganda value.

"We do not just write to tell stories, but to inspire, to arouse patriotism, so that every citizen feels like they are part of the fight for national security and a peaceful life. Real-life experiences help the writer better understand the task of protecting national security and ensuring social order and safety of the People's Public Security force, to sympathize and portray the image of the police officer in a realistic and close way," Colonel Tran Cao Kieu emphasized.

This writing camp brings together writers from many regions, ages and writing styles. The process of working together, discussing and exchanging helps writers share experiences and ideas, thereby improving their skills and creating diverse and rich works, contributing to enriching the literature on the topic of security and order. At the same time, it spreads the message of the movement of the whole people to protect the security of the Fatherland, arousing patriotism and civic responsibility.

Ninh Binh is not only a land rich in tradition, providing creative materials from the nation's resilient fighting tradition through many generations, but also a source of inspiration with the beauty of Trang An mountains and rivers. This creative camp contributes an important part in realizing the goal of the contest, which is to create literary works of ideological and artistic value, honoring the force and movement to protect security and order; is a place to nurture creativity, a driving force for writers to contribute to building a beautiful image of the People's Public Security force, raising public awareness of protecting security and order, and maintaining a peaceful life.

He also emphasized that the topic "For national security and peaceful life" is the story of the force, as well as the story of the entire people, of ordinary people who are contributing day and night to building a safe and civilized society.

Works on the theme "For national security and peaceful life" were displayed within the framework of the opening ceremony of the creative camp.

"We believe that, through the talented and dedicated pens of writers, the image of the police officer will be portrayed in a profound and authentic way; at the same time, the works will convey messages about patriotism, solidarity and the responsibility of each citizen in protecting security and order. I call on writers, from veteran writers to enthusiastic young authors, to let their hearts beat with the beat of the times, let their pens become weapons, light up beliefs, spread the spirit of solidarity and responsibility of the entire people in the cause of protecting the Fatherland", Colonel Tran Cao Kieu called.

In the coming days, the Organizing Committee will create all favorable conditions for writers to participate in the writing camp in the most effective way with the belief that writers will bring creative ideas and new perspectives, to together create works worthy of readers' expectations and the meaning of the contest.
