With the theme “Innovation and Technology - The Future of Our City”, the event affirmed the determination to turn the city into a digital economic locomotive and technology finance center in the region.
Taking place continuously for 3 days from November 26 to 28, 2025, WISE HCMC+ 2025 is an annual event of international stature, gathering hundreds of experts, investors and leading technology corporations. This is not only an activity in response to the Autumn Economic Forum 2025 but also a step to concretize Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology and innovation development.
At the event, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy emphasized the city's pioneering role in transforming Resolutions into practical solutions. In particular, 2025 was identified by the city as "the year of action and determination", focusing on streamlining the apparatus to be lean, efficient and promoting digital transformation.
Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy affirmed: "The city government is committed to always accompanying the innovation community in every stage of development, while maximizing its role in guiding, leading and connecting."
Strategic goal for the period 2025 - 2030, Ho Chi Minh City strives to become an international innovation center, with the digital economy accounting for 30 - 40% of GRDP and total social expenditure for research and development (R&D) reaching 2 - 3% of GRDP.
Startup Blink's report also said that Ho Chi Minh City is currently ranked 110/1,000 global cities and third in Southeast Asia in terms of innovative startup ecosystem. The city is also home to three of Vietnam's four tech unicorns (VNG, MoMo, Sky Mavis) and attracts nearly 50% of the total number of startups in the country.
An important highlight of this year's event is the inauguration of the City Innovation Hub (SIHUB) with a new look. Located at 123 Truong Dinh, Xuan Hoa Ward (Ho Chi Minh City), SIHUB is invested in a systematic construction with a scale of nearly 17,000 m2, of which more than 8,000 m2 of floor space is dedicated to innovation activities.
Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy commented that the formation of this center is an important turning point in the orientation of building a creative urban model. This will be the nucleus connecting resources, a convergence of strategic fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), cultural industry, sustainable development of the health sector...
Mr. Tran Trong Tuyen, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City shared: "For Ho Chi Minh City, WISE HCMC+ is a place to sow the seeds of the future, a place to activate intelligence, connect aspirations and promote action".
Mr. Tuyen commented that 2025 is the time when the city will shift to a development phase based on knowledge and technology instead of relying solely on capital or labor as before. Therefore, if the city wants to become an international financial center, it must have a financial innovation center; if it wants to lead in digital transformation, it must lead in new thinking and technology models.
According to the organizers, the WISE HCMC+ 2025 event has nearly 200 exhibition booths distributed on many floors of the SIHUB building. The exhibition area is specially designed, including a digital transformation area with nearly 60 units; a science and technology area with more than 100 units introducing new achievements; an area for startups with international partners from Korea, Japan, Singapore... The series of events also includes investment and market connection activities; in-depth seminars; support for businesses and the public sector and a playground for young people.
Mr. Tran Trong Tuyen emphasized: "Entrepreneurs should invest in innovation as they invest in their own future. Startups should not only look for markets in Vietnam but also look to the region and the world."
WISE HCMC+ 2025 Week will conclude on November 28 with the announcement of SIHUB's outstanding startup projects in 2025. The success of this series of events will contribute to realizing the goal of making Vietnam a developed country by 2045, while affirming Ho Chi Minh City's position as a destination for the country's biggest technology dreams.
