BHG - According to Decision No. 656/QD-BVHTTDL of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on allowing the Ha Giang Provincial Museum to excavate at the old pagoda foundation area (Ba Tu pagoda) in Bo Cung village, Yen Phu town, Bac Me district; The provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has developed an implementation plan from April 1 to May 15 on an area of 80 square meters.

The content to be carried out includes: Surveying and determining the location of the excavation pit in the field; conducting excavation; determining and analyzing stratigraphy, architecture and foreign objects; recording images; measuring and drawing the scene and architecture when determining the field; selecting typical artifacts and foreign objects for processing, analysis and dating at specialized agencies.

The archaeological excavation of the old pagoda foundation (Ba Tu Pagoda) aims to clarify the location, scale, type, age, architecture, and relics of the old pagoda foundation; collect relics and artifacts underground, and have more scientific basis to determine the value of the relic, on that basis, there will be solutions to preserve and promote the value of Ba Tu Pagoda. At the same time, through the results of the excavation process, it will be a scientific basis to compile a dossier to rank the archaeological relic at the provincial level, and higher at the national level, contributing to the basis for building more enriching tourism products to experience the cultural and historical values for domestic and foreign tourists when coming to Ha Giang.
