Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province Nguyen Van Phuong said that the train "Connecting Central Heritage" connects the two cities of Thua Thien Hue and Da Nang; gradually diversifying forms of transportation, helping people and tourists have more options in their journeys and experiences when visiting and traveling through the Central provinces; contributing to reducing the load on the tourism road traffic system in a more friendly, safe and sustainable direction.

This is the driving force, closer connection between the two localities, to effectively exploit the available tourism potential of Thua Thien Hue and Da Nang; create favorable conditions for people's travel and socio-economic development of the two key localities, the driving force of the central region.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province pledged to continue to direct relevant agencies and units to accompany and promote the train to tourism businesses, people and tourists; mobilize businesses to have preferential service policies, support connecting other modes of transport for passengers to continue their journey; ensure train safety; at the same time promote tourism specialties on trains to attract a large number of people and domestic and foreign tourists on trains; achieve the desired goals and expectations with the meaningful name "Connecting Central Heritage":.

This is not only a practical and attractive product that helps diversify tourism products but also a safe, comfortable and friendly travel option for tourists, helping to reduce pressure on road traffic, attracting international tourists on the heritage tourism journey of the three localities of Thua Thien Hue - Da Nang - Quang Nam, especially the wonderful experiences when enjoying the majestic beauty of the railway through Hai Van Pass.
On the Da Nang side, the city leaders directed the Department of Tourism, the Tourism Association and tourism businesses to create all favorable conditions for the development of the Hue - Da Nang tourist train on the journey "Connecting Central Heritage" to become a key tourism product of the two localities in general and the railway industry in particular.
“We hope that Vietnam Railways Corporation will continue to pay attention to renovating the interior, investing in equipment on train cars, upgrading the facilities of Hue and Da Nang stations, and adding more experiential tourism services between Hue and Da Nang to enhance the experience for tourists,” said Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong.

According to Mr. Dang Sy Manh, Chairman of the Board of Members of Vietnam Railway Corporation, the train was inaugurated to celebrate the 49th anniversary of the liberation of Thua Thien Hue province (March 26) and the liberation of Da Nang city (March 29).
The operation of the train "Connecting Central Heritage" is one of the efforts to connect the region and promote tourism of Thua Thien Hue province and Da Nang city. It is a new product, continuing the combination of transport and tourism products, a unique segment of tourism, history, culture and heritage experiences that Vietnam Railways is implementing.

“In the future, we hope to target the luxury cruise ship segment, connecting more means, regions, more services and utilities such as cooperating with other methods to make a ticket for the whole journey, in which the cruise journey is a segment in the tourist's journey chain”, Mr. Dang Sy Manh shared.
At Da Nang station, the city's tourism industry coordinated with Vietnam Railways Corporation to welcome and present flowers and gifts to passengers on the first train from Thua Thien Hue to Da Nang. Many tourists expressed their joy at experiencing the unique and new services on the tourist train connecting the two localities.
The first train from Thua Thien Hue to Da Nang had 183/250 tickets sold.
It is known that the operation of the Hue - Da Nang train not only contributes to ensuring traffic connection for people between the two localities of Thua Thien Hue and Da Nang but also creates an interesting experience for tourists when coming to the two most ancient and modern tourist cities in the country.
During the initial period of operation, the train consists of 5 modern air-conditioned soft-seat carriages and 1 community activity carriage, promising to be an impressive “mobile” check-in point for tourists. At Da Nang and Hue stations, the railway industry also arranged VIP waiting rooms to serve passengers. On the journey, tourists can also enjoy special local cuisine…
With a travel time of about 3 hours, the train departing from Thua Thien Hue will take visitors through Hai Van Pass to Da Nang. In the opposite direction, visitors will travel from Da Nang to the heritage land - the ancient capital of Hue.
On the opening day alone, the train consists of 10 carriages, including 2 community carriages, where visitors can enjoy cuisine and unique cultural and artistic performances.
After arriving at Hue and Da Nang stations, right in front of the stations, localities have arranged an automatic bicycle rental system using QR code scanning for the convenience of tourists visiting scenic spots. In particular, Thua Thien Hue province also applies a discount support policy for organizations and individuals when visiting tourist attractions in Hue (applicable once for each train ticket). It is expected that in April, the train will be equipped with wifi to serve passengers...
The operation of the train "Connecting Central Heritage" is one of the efforts to connect the region and promote tourism of the People's Committees of the two cities and is a new product, opening the way for transport business products combined with tourism service exploitation that Vietnam Railways will deploy in the near future.
It is known that every day, Vietnam Railways Corporation will organize 2 pairs of trains with the numbers HD1/2 and HD3/4 between Hue - Da Nang. Specifically: in Hue, train HD1 departs from Hue station at 7:45 am, arriving at Da Nang station at 10:35 am; train HD3 departs from Hue station at 2:25 pm and arrives at Da Nang at 5:40 pm.
In Da Nang, train HD2 departs from Da Nang station at 7:50 am and arrives at Hue station at 11:05 am; train HD4 departs from Da Nang station at 3:00 pm and arrives at Hue station at 5:45 pm.
In particular, during the opening month, Vietnam Railways Corporation applies a preferential ticket price of 150,000 VND/ticket; monthly ticket price of 900,000 VND/ticket (monthly tickets purchased at stations only) and a discount of 10% - 50% for passengers who are policy beneficiaries.
