Currently, the heavy rains lasting from November 16 to 19 have caused serious landslides on many mountain passes in Khanh Hoa ; including Song Pha Pass on National Highway 27 with about 10 landslides, slopes and fallen trees spilling onto the road, causing traffic jams and being very dangerous. According to forecasts, the amount of rain will continue to increase in the following days and the risk of landslides is inevitable.
To ensure the safety of people's lives and property and vehicles, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee requested the province's functional units to coordinate with the local authorities of Lam Son commune to set up blockades at landslide points, not allowing people and vehicles to circulate on the road when safety conditions on the road are not guaranteed.
Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee also requested transport companies and bus stations to proactively adjust their routes and avoid National Highway 27 during the time the authorities block the road. At the same time, they should increase propaganda at the station, arrange loudspeakers and electronic boards to warn passengers and transport units about the risks of unsafety if they deliberately travel on this route.
In addition, it is necessary to strictly comply with the instructions of the authorities in prohibiting roads and traffic at dangerous locations; not to intentionally cross deep flooded or landslide sections; not to stop or park vehicles in areas at risk of falling rocks and landslides on National Highway 27.
By noon on November 19, 4 new landslides occurred on Song Pha Pass on National Highway 27 connecting Khanh Hoa Province with Lam Dong Province. A lot of soil and rocks from the mountain fell down, crushing trees and then onto the road, posing a serious danger to the safety of people and vehicles passing through. Previously (November 16-17), 6 major landslides also occurred on this route.
