At an urgent meeting with the Khanh Hoa Provincial Civil Defense Command, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nghiem Xuan Thanh requested rescue forces to develop a rescue plan at the highest level. Currently, the water level continues to rise, the situation is critical, so saving people is the most important. Evacuation must go hand in hand with the immediate provision of essential necessities to people in affected areas. Regarding the 50 billion VND of government support, the Department of Finance was requested to urgently allocate it to 65 communes, wards and towns on the morning of November 20.
Currently, many localities of the province are still deeply flooded, especially the areas of Dien Khanh, Nha Trang, Khanh Vinh...; The Navy has mobilized more than 400 officers and soldiers; the Water Special Forces Brigade (formerly Ninh Thuan ) mobilized 150 troops to approach the most vulnerable and isolated areas.
Vice Admiral Nguyen An Phong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the Navy, said that since 11 p.m. on November 19, units have coordinated operations, sending human resources and vehicles to support the people. He emphasized that wherever people are in difficulty, the army will be present, not only at sea but also on land.
Along with the tasks of rescue, relief and provision of necessities, ensuring communication at this time is identified as an urgent requirement.
Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Tran Phong requested the Civil Defense Command at all levels and relevant units to maintain 24/24 command duty; arrange forces and means to urgently support people in moving their assets and evacuating from dangerous areas. The authorities must use all means to immediately approach isolated and cut-off areas to promptly evacuate people; resolutely apply coercive measures to those who do not comply with the evacuation. At the same time, units need to publicize hotlines for people to contact when they need support.
Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee calls on people to absolutely not be subjective in the face of complicated developments of floods; to strictly follow the instructions and directions of the government and functional forces; to proactively protect property and lives, and move to safe shelters. In this difficult time, the entire political system and people continue to promote the spirit of solidarity and mutual assistance to overcome the difficulties caused by floods.
